I'm ready for Pillar to replace AB in the lineup tomorrow.

You also don't want an early exit from your starter. Dever's error and Benni bobling Nunez' double lengthened things for him.

Credit to Perez for battling back and giving some solid innings. Nobody will praise him for giving up 5, but giving up 5 in 5 innings is a lot better than giving up 5 in 2 innings. He gave up a lot of weak contact in the first two innings. Two weak grounders through the shift, etc..

Look for the Yankees to trade for Alex Cobb at the deadline. You heard it here first. I'd like to see the Sox try and grab him if he looks good in a month. Boston guy, maybe work out something like the Cashner deal last year.

If Cobb's cutter is back, the O's are going to want big time prospects. Maybe, but he really doesn't have that much of a track record of success or health. If the price is high, I'm out. Then again, if the NYY checkbook is open, I'd definitely get involved in the bidding war and drive that price up.

His health is why the O's took a flyer on him in the first place. There was a time when he was one of the best pitchers in the AL East. He's been pretty much on the trade block since the O's got him.

Cobb hasn't been the same since surgery and hasn't really been close to being that 2013/2014 pitcher he once was.
Yet positive sign in the strikeouts today, that's been a noticable difference since he came back. Was an 8 plus K per 9 guy, then after surgery he's been at 6 per game. Even dropping below that last year.
Given expanded playoffs, price could be higher, yet his $15 million salary next year will turn off most teams. Type of guy I maybe take a flyer on with the cost being low. Wouldn't even consider it if they actually wanted real value.

He hasn't been GOOD good in about 6 years, and considering he's due almost $30M (not factoring for pro-rata) through next year, its not like he's automatically giving surplus value if he doesn't suck.

I don't want to see the Sox trade prospects for pretty much anybody. If you are the O's, that's what you want for anybody.

Not really impressed with the manager at all. Why bring in covey when you just got back in the game?

Just read my mind. By the way not just the picher he picked but the lineup also.
H e is acting like they played ten games in a row.

Devers is really disappointing to me so far. I worry about giving him a long-term deal.

Btw, I don't mind most of the things MLB is doing to get creative with this weird season, but those projected graphics on the field are atrocious.

I'm assuming it's because this season is a sprint, not a marathon. These guys won't have very many days off and just had a very limited ST. It's because they had so much time off that they don't want everyone to break down after a week of starting up. sure. but its the 2nd game and no one is going to predict injuries. At a minimum, at least win the series before you start thinking about that stuff. I think the idea is that they're trying to ease guys into this as they abruptly ramp up to live games.

I’m a little concerned with the lack of urgency managing from Roenicke. It’s what got us into trouble last year. Giving starters the day off on Day 2 and rolling out guys like Covey after we got back in the game feels more like a Spring Training approach
