It's kind of shameful how far we've let the Yankees surpass us as an overall baseball operation. They don't have a WS yet with their current core, but the moves they've been making for the past 5 or so years seems to have set them up for a very long run that doesn't have to end anytime soon; kind of like what Friedman's been doing.
Hopefully, Bloom can turn this into a great team again, but in a way that will also prove sustainable.

We have already reached the point in the season when I root for my second favorite team, Anyone-But-The-Yankees .

Respectfully, the idea of trading Devers seems like an exceptionally bad idea and very short sighted. He has a chance to be one of the premier players of his generation.

Devers traded? LOL what in the world. Dude had a .300 30/100 season at age 22.

And conversely, while I have hope for Beni, if the offer was good, I’d take it. The left side of the infield is what they should be building off of.

I’m happy to give Bloom some time to build this up. But I’m surprised he didn’t get any starting depth after trading Price. Having 3/5ths of the rotation comprised of guys who can’t get through 3 innings is tough to watch. I’m ok with the losing part but getting torched in the 1st inning every game is unwatchable
Adding someone like Taijuan Walker made so much sense.

They ought to encourage X to opt out. Why get hurt for this? Vazquez, Bogaerts, Devers, Benintendi, Verdugo, Eovaldi, Barnes, Workman, Casas, Downs, Dalbec, Mata, Groome, Houck, D. Hernandez, Taylor & Duran should all opt out.

Agree, but I don’t think we have to worry about teams blowing up Bloom’s phone trying to acquire a LF whose offense is trending down since 2018.

Really rooting for Beni!

So Bloom didn’t have a lot of financial flexibility to do much. Plus, he can’t know Sale is going to break down in ST. He can’t know ERod is going to be a COVID casualty. He can reasonably expect Perez to be something like a number 4 starter. They went into March with a plan for one spot in the rotation being an opener. It’s been a perfect storm for Chaim Bloom and the organization. I’m not ready to be critical of what he’s done.

I’m gunna count that as a line drive for Verdugo.

Hypothetically, if I’m in confession do I have to tell my priest that I want bad things to happen to Brett Gardner? I’m pretty sure that makes me a bad person.

I wonder how long it'll be before the players on this team weigh the risk/reward of playing out this entire season?
From top to bottom they're awful.

The Red Sox should have a charity raffle to have a lucky fan start a game. Might as well.

Man, August Saturday game against the Yankees and it is a ghost town in here. If that doesn’t say it all about this season...

Mazza is ok. Reminds me of Noe Ramirez a bit. Slinger.
