Just mitch going to SD is super disappointing. It'll be a minimal return, wish they could've made a package deal. Edit: I take that back, it looks like they did ok.

MLB Pipeline has Potts at #16 and Rosario at #19 in a loaded farm system.

This looks like a great return for Mitch. Two top-20 prospects from a loaded farm system.
Seems like teams really are paying to go for it.

In Baseball America's mid-season update, they had Potts at #17 and Rosario at #28.

Sorry to see a quality dude like Mitch go, but this looks like a good deal. Two decent prospects? Done. I wish him the best, and I hope SD can make a run so he benefits from this move.

That's a hell of a return for a guy that was freely available to every team 30 games ago. Give Bloom a lot of credit for signing Moreland to a great contract with the cheap team option.
Both prospects are Rule 5 eligible this offseason. I'm guessing the Padres have a 40 man roster squeeze and weren't too attached to guys on the borderline.

I like it. Good luck to Mitch, I'll miss him! Go help the Padres win a WS.

mitch was ripping it, sad, he was a good Sox. Chaim is doing what he needs to do, get more guys in the pipeline. I want to see more pitching, but I trust he took the best deal he could.

Good trade for both clubs. Padres get an affordable (with team option in 2021) and serviceable first baseman for Potts at #17 and Rosario at #28 in a richly loaded system. Could this open the door for more outfielders on the sox to be traded in the next 24 hours?
