I dont know why this is so complicated. You are saying hes bad at drafting bc of our record and lack of depth even though those things are a product of ALL facets of team building (not to mention, usage of the players on the team which is, mostly, not his decision).
The way you are approaching this argument, you must think Belichek is the best drafter of all time bc of all the Super Bowls. Even his biggest defenders wouldn't say that.

"I don't know what they're gonna do, but I hope he gets traded," he said about the possibility of the New Orleans Pelicans trading his son, Lonzo. "I don't like watching him play like he plays. ... He can't stand New Orleans, come on man." LaVarr being LaVarr First time I hope he keeps talking, perfect timing. BTW he's not wrong either. You need to unleash Ball, let him run the offense, not run iso with Zion and Ingram. It's the reason I want Ball, to run our offense and create offense for our scorers. We haven't had a passer like him since Rondo.

You base this off what exactly? Over the fact he's LeBron's agent? He has 28 clients? If Danny actually acted like that he needs to be fired. It's Tristan Thompson, not a star player. I don't get your hate for the Hornets either, they have a better record than we do. He'd get a bigger role holding a player option for next year. They have the likely ROY. Danny tried to trade him, no one would bite. He didn't hold onto him because of some sort of unwritten rules you believe in. It's bad optics, yet teams do it. Blake Griffin didn't even last a year in LA after his big deal. Yet the Hornets don't have the championship ceiling we do. I base this on what I've read from writers who cover the Celtics, they're pretty much unanimous in saying you don't do a dick move to TT, certainly not for a JAG big and a 6-1 SG. I call bollocks on "Danny tried to trade him". We have two versions of the story to believe in, one where we didn't trade Kemba that's based on facts since, you know, we actually didn't trade him, and the other that we tried really hard to trade Kemba which is based on rumors. I stand on the more likely to be verified.

You’re literally moving the goalposts on every post. All I said was Ainge’s drafting record has not been the problem. At no point have I ever said I’m okay with 7th place, so get outta here with that garbage. I’m sorry I thought drafting good players meant your team performs better..?? Maybe I’m wrong? Na actually for a bit of goal post education- when you draft better players over time and many of them with 2 top 3 picks. A top 6 pick 2 more lottery picks and 6 other first round picks. As you take high quality players and 2 all stars your team performs better. As of right now they are NOT performing well at all! I would say that’s an issue of drafting g the right players. His draft picks and trading of draft picks has directly led to this team being a 7th place team because it’s comprised primarily of players either picked up in draft or used draft picks to trade so they could acquire said players. Those picks or use of those picks has helped guide this team to a poor bench and 7th place seeding right now. That to me is poor use of all those draft picks Show me a team that's 100% built through the draft? I'm certainly critical of some of Danny's picks, some would certainly help. Yet that's not the big reason this team is a mess. Danny bringing in the wrong veterans and Steven's inability to mold these guys into a team are huge issues. The failed Turner trade, them signing Thompson and Teague. Fact Kemba isn't 100% and keeps missing games, which makes forming chemistry crazy hard. Smart gets injured and comes back forgetting how to pass and create. Then there's Langford taking much longer than expected to come back. So unless you think Clarke and Bane fix everything, I'd stop harping on Danny's draft record. We have to be fair right? Robert Williams is a HR pick, you don't get any better at the end of the first round. Pritchard is a darn good pick at the end of the first round. Now if Steven's would unleash Williams and actually let Pritchard play PG this team would look a lot better. He's not doing that, we also have some coaching issues going on. Steven's saying he might play Nesmith to end games and then bam he's not playing any minutes besides garbage time. Steven's also keeps rolling out big lineups playing two bigs a bunch, then Semi and Williams. When he could play Tatum at PF, that's what he played all last year, this year it's mostly SF. Now if he unleased Pritchard as a PG which when allowed to play the position he looked darn good, we could play better team ball. Pritchard can create in ways Thompson, Grant and Semi can only dream of. Thus these lineups are causing much more iso from Tatum and Brown than you want.

Show me a bunch of writers who say we shouldn't trade Thomoson because of who his agent is please. www.masslive.com/celtics/2021/02/kemba-walker-trade-rumors-celtics-tried-like-hell-to-trade-guard-danny-ainge-knew-knee-wasnt-right-report.htmlFirst came the rumors he was trying to trade him and yeah you never know how legit those are. Yet then came the a lot of GMs are ticked off because Danny tried to sell them damaged goods. That's a reliable source. So if Danny didn't try like hell to trade Walker, how did he upset so many GMs? That's not a rumor, he's reporting what he's hearing from GMs. It happened. An agents job is getting his guys paid and the best spot for their careers. Putting up bigger numbers on a playoff team is better for his career and future paychecks. Which team is more likely to give him a big crazy deal? The way things stand now Thompson might be Kanter come playoff time. He's clearly the third best center on this team, when he'd be the best one on the Hornets. He doesn't like Charlotte, he opts out and signs with another team. 6'1 SG? Graham averaged 7.5 assists on a crappy Hornets team last year. Oh yeah where do the Celtics rank in assists this year? Bottom fourth in the league.

No, I'm sorry friend but if you need to ask that like you haven't even heard that conversation then maybe you should follow the Celtics more closely. It would only annoy me to google it and I know you'd handwave it anyway. 6'1 SG? Graham averaged 7.5 assists on a crappy Hornets team last year. And your just fine with the product he puts on the court and the results. Look he primarily used draft picks to stock this team be it trading a few or using them. Those picks have given the team talent, but definitely not enough talent to remain competitive. At end of day the Boston Celtics are in this position because of poor decision in free agency/lack of trades for solid nba players/and pisspoor drafting accept for a few select picks. And I personally don’t think saying your a great evaluator of talent because you own the top pick, #3 pick, and #6 pick in 4 years. PLUS 3 more lottery picks after that make you a great indentifier of talent. Most nba gms can draft 3 quality players if you give them that many picks. The really good ones can find more talent than brown Tatum and a never all star can’t shoot Marcus smart. At end of day results matter and this team is built around his draft picks and results say #7 ranked in East

I'm NOT fine with the product but I understand enough to know that the pointing that result is NOT evidence of his draft talent.
Let's table that Tatum and Brown were NOT the guys most people thought Boston should take with the #3 and, at that time, #1 pick in the draft. Even at #3, many were criticizing The Tatum pick. But you want to ignore RWIII. Rozier.
Those are good picks in spots where value is not expected.
The crazy part is that almost everyone on this board is more than willing to criticize Danny. But saying its drafting and only using their record as "evidence" is preposterous.
His biggest mistake is probably trying to navigate 2 timelines. He should've picked a path and stuck with it.

I critique Danny with what I would have done. Most years I don't have issues, this year I saw major issues coming. I love Langford, he was always what does he look like in four years type guy. Raw young upside guy. If you don't give Danny credit for rebuilding while winning you lose all my respect. We've been to the conference finals for 3 out of the last 4 years. How many GMs have done that? It's like you are judging Danny just based on this season. Since 2008, one championship, another finals appearance, then 3 more conference finals. If you don't like that, then you are out of luck.

That's not a guy you should target. If I give you links of people talking about not trading TT, will you admit to be wrong on this one?

Looks like Brad called a private meeting with the team and Grnde reports it was tell them he is staying.
To reporters he said:
"I'm a 44-year old Masshole. I swerve around others when I'm driving. I eat Dunkin' Donuts and I root for the Patriots."
So WCP, I dont care what you think about Stevens he's perfect and I will not stand for any of your heresy.

According to him, people in the know have said Stevens will be announced as the new IU head coach soon. "Funny" Dave Dameshek is an NFL guy with ties to Pittsburgh and is an IU alum. Not at all knowledgeable but a pretty entertaining Podcaster, now doing lines and betting. Used to have a show on NFL.com and a comedy show called "Daves of Thunder" with TV writer Dave Feeney. I know far more about him than is reasonable.

As much as I’ve criticized Stevens, I’ve never said he should be fired. I stand by what I’ve always said - he’s very good at building up a team over the course of a season, but he has some bad in-game coaching habits that he’s never bothered to address. That doesn’t always matter in the regular season, but it gets magnified in the playoffs when other elite coaches are coaching circles around him.

He's a backup PG and Walker keeps missing games. All it costs is dumping Thompson contract, which is massive to begin with. Sure if it's what you claimed.

Give me a break that he should get credit for drafting that high. Devin booker and deandre Anton anyone? And that was at 1 and 12. Joel embid. Maxey jrue holiday. Ben Simmons. And that gm was fired Heat. ( Duncan, bam, dragic, hero). Portland also drafts great. You focus on the big two. I can list 8-10 teams who have drafted equal to those 2 and not in the top 3. And those teams didn’t have a 6 and two other lottery picks to back them up along with countless other first round picks
