Jaylen Brown is the best player on the Celtics and that’s not a bad thing.

Theis gets a tough whistle, but he commits so many careless fouls (like that reach on Griffin) and then complains about every single one of them.

Jaylen is sensational
Thompson is having a nice game. It’s pretty clear to me him and TimeLord are the two best centers.

Way too much time on the bench for Jaylen here. The offense is just not running smooth through Tatum, he’s far too predictable of an offensive player right now. He needs to become a real threat at finishing around the basket.

I don't have a problem with it if the time is reasonable, but JB sitting way, way too long. Edit: Surprise, JB is cold. Most predictable thing ever. Brad may be a good tactician and Xs and Os guy, but hes bad at lineup/minutes intuition and feeling out who has it for the game (including timeout timing and use).

Four second half shot attempts for Jaylen. Four.

Sneaky one of Tatum’s best all-around games of his career.
Nice to escape with a win. Let’s focus on fixing the defense the next couple of weeks.

Just realized that Grant Williams didn’t play at all... also, not sad about it.... semi seems like he’s teetering on a breakout into a useful rotation piece.

I was so out on Semi, but he’s been a different player this year. He was pretty bad in preseason too, so his play has been a really nice surprise. I still think Grant will turn into a nice rotational player, but these second-year guys were really hurt by a short offseason. As an undersized big man, he’s going to need to become a consistent shooter - but the lack of reps this offseason did not help.

As soon as Semi did that euro step in game 1 (I believe) I got very confused as that was quite unexpected
He’s been solid so far. He’s playing like a legitimate 9th man. That’s got value. And it’s funny because his numbers aren’t really a whole lot different than last years coming into the game but there seems to be much more fluidity to his game.
Pritchard getting 28 min. Brad likes him a lot. Probably reminds him of his scrappy Butler kids lol

These teams that rely on communication and rotation and 5 guys working as one on that end are really struggling

I don't get the Steven's crap. He might not be a top 3-5 guy, yet he's a top 10 coach. This teams issues are much more Danny and the roster.
I wouldn't complain about D when a team is hot from deep. The fact three of your top 9 guys are basically centers in today's NBA is going to hurt your D.

Was just reviewing Tatum’s season stat line. Once he learns how to finish at the rim (currently one of the worst fg% on layups in the league) and get to the line, his numbers will explode. To average over 24 ppg the way he’s doing it isn’t easy.

The fact three of your top 9 guys are basically centers in today's NBA is going to hurt your D. I'm still not sure the roster is Danny's "fault" either. They've lost 4 top-40ish players in the last 4 years (I'm including IT here) because Danny (rightly) kept three amazing youngsters as the heart of the team. The Hayward loss is the only one not accompanied by a backup plan, and that's because they were in a position of weakness with a really bad FA market and the youngsters not being cheap anymore. I'm glad we don't have Turner and McDermott clogging the cap space. Unless the medicals missed something, Kemba's knee got worse after he came over. I'm still okay with Thompson on the mid-level; I think his drive and rebounding will add a new dimension to the team. if you want to pick nits with Teague on Bi-annual, sure. I'm guessing the Trade exception doesn't get used effectively, and that will suck to lose GH for nothing. But I don't see a huge number of moves that Danny didn't make that I'd want them to.

No Smart, no Teague, this should be an interesting game.

Celtics are probably going to get blown out of this one. Too undermanned, and Toronto is desperate
