What a great game! Hopefully they can build from this into the next one with the NYR, 2 against Pit. and then the long homestand!

Yeah you can maybe call a 2 min charge but to me that’s a nothing hit with a bad result
They’ve been playing poorly lately

I missed the game but apparently Dan Vladar looked good in his first NHL start yesterday. This save was ridiculous:

I missed the game but apparently Dan Vladar looked good in his first NHL start yesterday. This save was ridiculous: Yeah he was great. He’s also physically massive, I knew he was tall but he looks huge in net A pairing of Swayman/Vladar may be in our future and it could conceivably continue our great goaltending run (after the merry go-round of the late 90s/early-2000’s)

Who the hell is Greg McKegg? Does he rely on his legs? Does he eat a lot of eggs?

Last two minute of the second period: Wood grabs and holds Grzelcyk's stick for like 5 seconds, so they call the penalty on Grzelcyk. Then a tick-tack penalty on Subban. As the topper, the most blatant trip you've ever seen on Krejci right out int he open and they.... I don't know, decide they don't feel like calling something?
Man, officiating in the NHL seems to approaching NBA levels.

F these refs. God damned ridiculous! Reports after the Bruins game tonight notes the referees and lineman have agreed to start the law firm of Doowe Cheatum and Howe. The optics of this the same week a league know for it's methodical deliberate approach to everything, did a complete 180 in its approach to a ref with 22 years in and a month away from retirement decided no inquiry was needed to fire his ass tell everyone there is nothing to see here don't ask questions to an in game comment where partially through a statement he made was cut short. The NHL clearly wanted this swept under the rug as quick as possible. Sure it received coverage but no more than a minute at most on any given outlet and the narrative without any question was always the same that the referee was merely doing a make-up call and we alll know that happens no big deal. All the media read off this same angle and never questioned what the hell is going on here. This is damning in and of itself as has every action from the league since the inception of the off guarded comment was caught on the mic. Conspiracy or not this has every conceivable angle a conspiracy could possible have. Most Hockey Krishnas don't even want to talk about it. Their heads are in the sand. Something stinks in Denmark and so to does the NHL. Then there was tonights Bruins game. As sports fans we don't want to believe the game is tainted all the more reason to suspect they are. Donaghy was right. Where is the medias interview of Peel?

The officiating is terrible but so is their 5 on 5 offense

That win felt good. Gave up way too many chances, had some bad bounces, kept coming and pulled it out.
They needed to get a W against these guys.,

If these back issues are persistent for Tuukka I can see him retiring after the season. They’d be able to invest 10+ million into scoring if they had a rookie goalie tandem!

Bs lose out on Palmieri as he and Zajac head to the Islanders.
@nhlrumorsdaily (pretty good follow BTW) had Bs in driver seat so they may be turning elsewhere.

I'm really interested in how the deadline will play out, not only from the perspective of this year but also how it impacts the Expansion Draft and the B's protected list.
Defense - considered the #1 need but will they get a guy with term or just a rental? If someone under contract, how does that impact Gryz? With Clifton having enough enough games to meet the minimum criteria, Gryz is on the protected list. But with McAvoy and Carlo, someone with term would leave Gryz out (one would think) OR change the format of their protection list (from 7F/3D to 8F/D).
Forwards - Right now, you have to protect Bergeron, Marchand and Coyle bc of their NMCs. Pasta is also a lock. If another D that you want to protect is acquired and you switch to the 8 skater format, that's it on Fs. I you're sticking with the 7Fs then you have 3 more to select. Smith, Ritchie, DeBrusk and Frederic are likely battling for those spots. Kase, Bjork, Wagner are the perceived regulars that would be exposed. Kuhlman and Senyshyn haven't earned a spot. Personally, I feel like DeBrusk and Frederic are too young/talented to leave exposed. If you don't protect them, one is likely gone. I think you trade one instead. Ritchie would've been the easy exposure heading into this year but now???
Goalies - As of today, you have to expose Vladar bc he's your only G under contract for next year that is also expansion eligible. While Rask's injuries and Halak's inconsistencies are a concern, expansion may be the other reason we're starting to hear about Boston's interest in a G.

NHRD thinks Taylor Hall would be an obvious pivot for Boston after being so heavily involved with Palmieri but he also adds that Iafalo has been a name that has come up. To that, I believe that Ferguson attended a Kings game recently.
I believe Hall would require money going out in some form for cap compliance (assuming Rask comes back on the books after LTIR).

So I didn't realize that Callum Booth is an RFA in the offseason. So, as long as Boston makes him the QO, he'd be the guy they could expose (and protect Vladar).
