So far it’s looking like they made the right moves. The young D look like they got some of that extra seasoning Red Wings prospects used to get- when they show up in the bigs they look like they’ve been there for years. Zboril and Lauzon are killing it
Same with Kevan Miller too

Pretty remarkable to be down to the Caps 3-0 in back-to-back games, and to come away from them with 3 points!

....and then yesterday's epic comeback! Pasta is a legend. Whats it going to take to start some dialogue on the Bruins this year?

Pastrnak is definitely the best goal scorer I’ve seen on the Bruins in my lifetime
He’s the NHL Steph Curry

Biggest surprises so far are the young D and the resurgence of Nick Ritchie. He's definitely put himself back in the discussion for being protected from the expansion draft.
Feel's like the potential to lose someone is impacting decisions. If you get a D with term, especially if they have an NMC, you might as well trade Carlo or Grzelcyk bc they will have to be exposed. I think it's also why they really wanted to see what they have in Lauzon and Zboril bc both will have to be exposed (technically, right now, Grz HAS to be exposed but that changes when another Vet D meets the 1 or 2 yr games played criteria).

I really need to try to watch this team more. Kind of tough down in DC but too many times I realize they were playing the Caps after the fact, for example.

They’re a ton of fun as long as they aren’t playing the Islanders apparently They’re a nice blend of Offense/defensive responsibility/physicality. The 5 on 5 scoring still isn’t *great* but they’re getting there and it wouldn’t shock me to see them add another winger at the deadline in the mold of a Kyle Palmieri. That would go a long way towards helping things out All the young guys are bringing something to the table

I love Chara but he was quickly becoming a liability especially at playoff time when the talent level rises and many wings made him look like a turnstile. The kids have been all that and more than can be expected so far anyway. I'm surprised by the lack of Bruins chatter here because they have been very entertaining to watch with no lead seemingly unsurmountable. CDJ did a nice summary, not to mention they were missing last years NHL co-leader in goals scored for most of the games and he came back with a bang with 5 goals in 3 game. I put $100 down to win $1,200 if they win the cup. Nearly every game has been entertaining to watch, now the Celtics......

I wish there was more discussion of them here, because I am enjoying this season and would love to hear more of people's feedback.
Interested to see if the Smith-Krejci-Ritchie line can get back to playing the way they were early. Started thinking how with that as a second line allowing DeBrusk to play with Coyle and Studnicka had some real promise. Then I saw a blurb about Kase coming back and I was like "wow, I forgot all about that guy".
Really curious how it all shakes out.

Judging by practice it seems like they are going Marchand-Bergeron-Debrusk Ritchie-Krejci-Pastrnak Bjork- Coyle- Smith Frederic- Kuraly- Wagner Also it seems like they intend on having Studnicka finish the season in Providence I don’t hate that. These guys are looking good with some extra seasoning

If they can bottle the last 10 min of every game and play like that all the time they would go undefeated
They were asleep tonight
Also Jacobs needs to fix the ice

Count me in as another who would love to see more discussion here. I'm unfortunately just not as smart in hockey as I am in baseball. Can't provide much analysis, I just sit back and yell "shoot the puck" here and there.
I will say if anyone here is into the development of more sabermetric style stats in hockey you should give @fauxcentre a follow on Twitter. He's doing some really cool things and posts pretty frequent analysis on Bruins players.

Well that was awesome
Nice to see Frederick get on the board. Vaakanainen looked good. Hopefully Lauzon is ok

Their depth on the blueline is getting a significant test. If Lauzon has to miss time, that leaves Kampfer as 7th D. Would love to see Vaak get more time though.

Lauzon had surgery on a fractured hand. Big chance for Vaak now, one would think.

I wonder if they go out and get Ekholm to give them more of a veteran presence on the backend come playoff time. He is a terrific player
Sucks about Lauzon but he’s been pretty unlucky with injuries dating back to his junior days where he caught a skate to the throat. Injuries will happen when you play a rugged game though so I’m glad they have the depth to cover for him
Cassidy implied Ahcan may be the next one up if another injury happens. Getting that kid as a college free agent was a boon. He is short but he’s built like a hydrant, he can plant people for a 5’8 kid. As you might expect he is a great skater and can distribute the puck- obviously you’re not really getting as far as he has at his size without that natural offensive ability. Krug is his comp but he may be a little more physical (and probably less offensively gifted). He’s probably a better skater than Krug at this point too

Now, that 2nd period was fun! Bergeron's goal was a masterpiece. To me, Grzelcyk was the unheralded star. The steal leading to one goal, the great pass for the Marchand tap in on another. Star of the game for a guy who didn't get one of the 5 goals. (Honoarable mention to Tinordi)

Probably not going to get much notice in a 4-0 game, but Halak was an absolute monster tonight. NY had plenty of chances to make it a game and he kept having the answer.
Glad he was able to finish eh shutout.
