Sabres get Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar for Anders Bjork and a 2nd Rd pick.

I know Hall comes with question marks but with Kreiji as his center I think he will be much better than he has been lately. For Bjork and a 2nd rounder this could be a big steal to fill that long sought after 2nd line RW.
The D man should help also but I am a bit surprised at the efforts considering Rasks health, They must not be too worried about the injury. These moves could end up making a significant improvement for them. How long has it been since they got lucky and hit a HR with a deadline deal?

They needed something to spark some offense and this certainly qualifies
Lazar is an underrated piece in this deal, they’ll have him for next year as a 4th liner too. Solid defensively, 5 ES goals this year which would put him like 6th on the team lol

I'm not sure how much this helps. Hall is a couple of years removed from being really productive. I also hate giving up Bjork, who wasn't scoring a lot but just seemed to be making plays whenever they gave him a chance.
Still, can't fault them for making the move. They needed something to shake up the offense and taking a shot at a guy who's really talented and has been a scorer in the past is a worthwhile gamble. And glad they didn't give up their 1st rounder.
So Debrusk become a RW now, I suppose? Interesting to see how that works out. I wish they could do something like swap him, a prospect like Beecher, maybe a 2022 pick for Conor Garland. But I assume they are done.

I was wrong about Hall being a RW..... but it would be awesome if he as he says wants to sign an extension and does sign for a good deal as his #'s are down and he gets back close to what he has always been.

That's obviously the dream scenario. Wonder how much it will take to get him signed long-term vs him insisting on a one year deal to try to rekindle his value. Of course, I'm sure whatever deal they can agree to will have sticking points that can't be resolved until after the expansion draft.

Sweeney got back to back to back bombs at the deadline, my god they’re all playing terrific hockey
Hall is so dangerous out there. Lazar has rejuvenated the 4th line. Cassidy loves Reilly more than any of his family members (and I love him too, terrific add)
Lazar has another year left but I hope they lock up Hall and Reilly immediately after the expansion draft
Getting major Seidenberg vibes from Reilly. They’re not apples to apples in terms of playing style but they were both picked up after bouncing around the league a bit and fit in here seamlessly while entering their primes

How about not 1 but 2 deadline trades that turn into Hr's for the front office!!

The last game started a stretch of 5 of 7 vs Buffalo. A good time to make a move up the standings!

I’ll never not love Reilly for actually getting pucks on net
This team is feeling themselves right now, picked a damn good time to start ramping things back up

If you recorded the game to watch later, DO NOT WATCH IT. It's literally the least effort I've seen hockey players make in a game. No defender can be bothered to even find a sabre player to defend. lazy, lazy, lazy. Worst Bruins game I've seen.
Can we get rid of Lauzon somehow, like, immediately? I'm so sick of watching him just hand the puck to the opposite team over and over again.

I'm so sick of watching him just hand the puck to the opposite team over and over again. Holy overreaction. Lauzon logged 6 min of SHTOI last game and is top 5 in the league in SHTOI per game. The PK is elite. Make of that what you will He’s better than Zboril is imo Hey, at least they made it interesting in the last 5 minutes or so. The capitals game pre-deadline was much worse They looked completely out of sync. Which makes sense because Coyle was on line 1. He’s been pretty bad this year.

Couple thoughts after an easy win, first game I've been able to watch for a little bit:
- Easiest shutout ever for Swayman. - Was prepared to come here and praise DeBrusk's night even before he scored that goal. He was all over it tonight. - I really like Kevin Miller. Underrated player when healthy. - Not to re-hash the couple of posts above this, which were a couple of weeks ago, but I think Lauzon is OK, but he does seem to average one dumb turnover per game. Had another tonight, didn't cost us. - He won't, and shouldn't really, win, but boy Marchand deserves serious MVP consideration. The guy is one of the best and seems to still be getting better.

Agreed. At one point the defense just kept puking all over itself, but it's come a long way in the past couple of weeks. Hopefully with Carlo returning, Lauzon sees less time and has less of those 1 off opportunities per night to kill his own team. Recent pet peeve is realizing that Pasta is either all in, or a space cadet. There doesn't seem to be an in between. Lately he's been in space mode, passing to other team, missing sticks by a mile, flailing and not even hitting the puck a lot instead of receiving it. He's so much better than that, you hate to see when he's off his game. Marchand has really been amazing this year overall.

Kase back at practice. Don't see how you can play him in the playoffs unless there's several injuries. He's basically missed the whole season.
Nice seeing the Caps lost to the Flyers today.

Worth a shot to get him into a game and see how he looks before the end of the season. He’s apparently been cleared for awhile but the bruins have been treating him with kid gloves (for good reason) He was really effective against Carolina in the playoffs last season. I think Kuhlman has been good in the lineup lately but I’d prefer to see Kase to him or a Wagner Kuraly has improved his game a lot lately, he’d have been my scratch a month ago if you asked me Coyle seems to be finding his game a little bit too. He played well when he was with Kuraly and Ritchie- that entire line did really Taylor Hall really has changed the dynamic of this team, I was skeptical of him but I’m fully sold Hoping Pasta is reengaged by the playoffs. Perhaps he’s battling something i reckon McDavid is gonna get the mvp but I’d rather have Marchand if I had to win a game tonight

Yeah, I don't think Kase playing in the postseason is a matter of him vs. Wagner. Wagner has been pretty effective lately, and even if you don't think so, Kase isn't a 4th line type anyway. No way you'd put him there. For him to make the playoff roster, you'd really have to choose him over 2 of Coyle, Kuraly and DeBrusk. I just don't see it.
But no, there's no reason not to give him a shot in the last couple of games and again, if there are injuries, who knows?

Bruins are finally healthy (especially on the backend) and Washington comes in with some lingering injuries. Rask is far more experienced in the playoffs than Washington's goalies. If the bruins can stay disciplined and stay out of the box I see them winning in 6.

LOL. Kase hurt again already. Feel awful for the guy. Doesnt *seem* like another concussion from what they said but I don’t see how it wasn’t. He took a decent open ice hit and popped back up but it wouldn’t shock me if that did it It’s a damn shame because when he was going good in Anaheim he was a hell of a player, very underrated I also have Bruins in 6. Washington is begging to implode with the injuries/covid/kuznetsov drama and a microscope on Wilson
