Granted I didn’t see all of his spring training starts, but the 3 times I’ve seen Richards pitch in a Red Sox uniform he’s looked awful.

Hopefully they keep Richards in the rotation the entire season so they can get a better draft pick.

I know it’s mixing apples and hammers, but it’s annoying that Houck is going to get sent down soon and Richards will be on the mound in five days.

Anyone in particular the Sox should be tanking for in the 2022 draft?

This team can't buy a hit. But at least the pitching has been exceptional

Wow. This is pathetic. 21 more outs to go. Time to man up!

Why was Richards better than Kluber again?
Still doesn't matter when the bats can't score a run.

Wow Houck > Richard's Sox needed a strong start This is demoralizing Richard's need to go to the bullpen and Houck needs to start.

Imagine how well this team would play if they had the fourth highest payroll instead of the fifth highest.

Wow Going to get swept by Baltimore at gome to start the season and totally embarrassed the 3rd game. I hope we lose this one 25-0 @ this point. Maybe it will ignite some fires

I'm a huge Corey Kluber fan so I'm going to be extra critical of Richards. This team needed a good opening series just to get a more positive narrative around this team and build a little excitement. Instead, they've been inept at hitting and sloppy on defense. The starting pitching looked good, but now Richards is having a rough first inning of the season. Ultimately, this series means very little, but not a great way to start the season when most pegged this as a loser club to start the year after an awful 2020. Whether you are a Kluber fan is irrelevant as he was NEVER coming to Boston (contract and coach were in NYY’s favor! I am a huge Mookie Betts fan, but that is irrelevant as he was never staying. Richards was signed to flip at the deadline (if he is not horrible like he was today)!

12 hits in 2+ innings already by a bad hitting team

Well, clearly, the Orioles are now the prohibitive favorite to win the American League East.

Tough spot but did anyone think Josh Taylor was the answer to getting out of that jam with minimal damage?

How does the playoff format work again? Is it like the contrived new NBA format? The regular season means nothing anymore. This is all about money and ratings. I hope both Florida and Georgia dissolve and form their own island. It will make the world a lot better.

Congratulations on your MLB debut Garrett Whitlock! You’re a big leaguer.
