What? Casas, the guy that only plays 1b and is two years away. Franchy already has no trade value and has imploded already. Dude. 1k at-bats is 2 yrs. By then Cases will be over 23 yrs old. He is being groomed to be the Sox 1B of the future. Pretty sure they want Cases on the club by opening day 2023, if not sooner. Dalbec can play other positions at that point. The larger point is i don't care if Dalbec crashes and burns...i want him to get his 1k in the Sox uniform. You think that kind of power is easy to find ?? They have another like him. ( blaze Jordan) coming up. I have also wondered what they will do with dalbec and casas. 1st/dh? Trade dalbec? Maybe dalbec gets you that ace starter. I matter what happens we have a pretty solid defensive 1st. And a starter who has mlb power an an attitude of wanting to be team guy. He reminds me a lot of Luke voit. And he will be inexpensive for a bit.

He doesn't really profile as a utility type because he is so big....but if he can play the field a bit, and DH while ripping 450 foot Moonshots, i think we can find a spot for him. LOL.

I saw that. I kind of like it TBH, except X on the bench of course.

I saw that. I kind of like it TBH, except X on the bench of course. X is the DH. Arauz is at SS, Plawecki catching, Chavis at 2B.

I saw that. I kind of like it TBH, except X on the bench of course. X DHing keeps his bat in the lineup while giving him a day off at SS. I would rather have that then having Cordero in the lineup as JD playing left for a game here and there is ok.

I clicked on the game feed. You would have thought we lost. Instead we won by 9. And gave up 0. Red Sox fans sometimes can just be..... wanting perfection Baseball is a game of failures and adjustments to those failures. We shall see if Cordero is in that cycle or less than it. It for gosh sakes. We are winning. Let’s enjoy the ride.

Tough luck for Eovaldi. His ERA is close to 5 now and he's pitched like an ace all season long.

3 RBIs on base hits of 67 and 68 mph. That's tough luck

What is the "truth" about Eovaldi? Parcells would say "you are what your record/stats say you are"... no?

What happened to Cora's philosophy of this team "hunting strikes?" Could they have heard, "Hunting strike-outs," perhaps?

On another note, I am finding Ellis Burks to be an almost comically boring color commentator, if that's possible. I wish NESN could come up with any idea other than taking some random ex-player and shoving them in the booth. The player's perspective can be interesting sometimes, but they already have two of 'em and there's more to life.

3 RBIs on base hits of 67 and 68 mph. That's tough luck The first RBI was 91.9. But all three were legit "weak hits," with xBA's of .660, .950, .870, so at Statcast, in terms of xwOBA and xERA, they will be indistinguishable from rockets. That's why I invented pERA, but the new baseball broke the formula. On the off-day I think I'll try to get new coefficients for it based on just this year's data.

The next time Eovaldi is on the mound, I'm going to have a lot of confidence that he's going to play well and shut down the opposing offense. More confidence than I did on opening day, even.

Plawecki dumptrucking into third. Come on, dude - run hard until the coach gives you a stop sign. Little League 101.

Watching Chavis just hack away and whiff on every single high fastball is infuriating

Really like Araúz and glad they were able to hold onto him last year.
Chavis is terrible.

Chavis swinging his way back to Worcester. Didn't see a single strike in that AB.
