Dude has been stud status of late and the playoffs. He has shown enough to be a keeper and usable on the team in some capacity..... hopefully as a starter

Why no JBJ in RF at this point?

Hmm, not a big fan of bringing him back for the 9th at 101 pitches, though presumably he has a short leash.
Never mind, that was cool.

I dunno about letting Pivetta pitch the 9th
I guess he does seem like the kinda guy that it would mean a lot to

I love watching a complete game. Thank you Nicky P. Thank you AC for letting him go out there again.

Refreshing game. Great to see a starter plow through the new wave restrictions.

Great game for the team and Pivetta vs a stout team

Now I believe there is hope.
I think we bottomed out last night - sorry Nate had to be the tortured victim.

Great win! 5.0 out of the WC.
Seattle right above the Sox. Opportunity knocks.

Now that's pitching. I'm glad he got the chance to go 9. Wish I could see that more often when a pitcher is cruising rather than the early hook on favor of a questionable bullpen.
I still think Pivetta could make a great closer.
But its games like this that makes you feel that he could/should be a front line starter and disappointed that he also winds up as a back end guy due to lack of consistency.
I mean, as I've said before, Pivetta is the guy on the staff most likely to throw a no-hitter and tonight he wasn't too far off. He's just as likely to get knocked out on in the 2nd inning. It's too bad because he is capable of being a front line starter or the closer. Hope this good stretch he has been on since his wretched start continues for a long time.

Fabulous start by Pivetta and thank Bb gods for some support. Bottom five in lineup have three approaching the Mendoza and one mired deep below it.

Wow. Nice to come home to THIS box score. After yesterday's debacle, this CG is absolutely huge. Well done, Mr. Pivetta.

Now I believe there is hope. I think we bottomed out last night - sorry Nate had to be the tortured victim. Lets hope so. Just looked at the box score and the batting averages of six of nine of our hitters, there is pretty much no where to go but up. OTOH when a starter give you a complete game 2 hitter, that is something to celebrate.

He gave up a leadoff homer right? So after the first batter, he pitched a 1-hit shutout? Hard to top that, especially against a tough lineup.

The Red Sox now have back-to-back series win in Texas and at home against Houston….well done. Hope they keep it going against Seattle….

Bullpen can't cough up a game they don't participate in.
Terrific performance by Pivetta.

That was like a Pedro game. Give up a bomb and then shut them down with no hope at any point.

You have to wonder which is more valuable, a league average starter who is consistent start to start or a league average starter who's a stud one day and a bum the next.
