In the Gallo/Brogdon introductory press conference, Brad made it sound that, contrary to reports, the team is still looking to spend deeper into the tax by utilizing their tpe’s, including the Fournier one.

It wouldn’t shock me if Begarin eventually develops enough to be a defense-first guy off the bench. He’s just too far away in his development to make any firm conclusions imo. It’s like signing a 16 YO 6’1 160 lb international free agent pitcher throwing 84 mph. It’s all about projection. I agree. Why couldn’t he become a Gary Payton III type player?

How is Justin Jackson even eligible for summer league with 255 NBA games played and why is he getting minutes over Matt Ryan? Plenty of tape on Jackson, I just don't understand. Interested in signing him, bring him to camp.
Nice win against a Warriors team with 3 high lottery picks.

Great game last night. Hitting on all cylinders.
I was confused with Jackson too but I thought that’s a common last name.

Ryan and Hauser were resting “minor injuries”… also at this point if you’re being ruthless you want to hide Ryan and hope he has to sign another 2 way

I cant wait for the games to begin. The only thing that sucks is summer will be over. The Celtics really have it. I wish Timelord could get over his injuries but some people's body are different. I mean if he was 34 I understand but he is very young.

JD Davison is for sure raw and prone to mistakes, but this dude looks like he has serious potential as at least a good backup, which is a great find in a late 2nd.
Agreed on Kabengale. Dude has a motor, athleticism, and skill. Sign him.

Remember Carsen Edwards? Summer league is legit meaningless. It’s one of those places where bad performances should be of concern but good ones mean nothing. Legitimately nothing.

I broadly agree, but its more than just putting the ball in the bucket - which is what Carsen did. Yes, summer league is meaningless in general butttt what I watched was pretty special today. JD is way more athletic (and larger) than Carsen. He also got 10! assists and has shown legitimate playmaking ability. He flashed some huge defensive potential as well. Plus was a legit 5 star top recruit in high school. He combines patience, vision, and explosiveness in a nice package, even if he has to work on his handling and shooting. All I'm saying is I think we have something here beyond a bust, which is great for a 2nd. He reminds me a lot of Jaylen Brown in that he's an incredible athlete who struggled with skills, decisionmaking, and handling in college but was a godly athlete - really think this guy has legit potential. Not saying he's going to become Brown btw, but I could see a Marcus Smart lite player in there.

I understand what you are saying, all I’ll push back on is, he can’t be a Smart light player at his size. Marcus’s size and strength, literally make him what he is. You can’t be compared to him without that defensive ability to switch everywhere. So we need a better comp… how about IT light. Worse offensively but can play some defense on guards. That’d be a good outcome.

Kabengale reminds me of a poor man's Robert Williams. Fouls too much, but he is quick with a 7'3" wingspan. A bonus is that he can hit some 3's.
Love to see him learn to pick his spots from Horford.

Davison was 191.8 at combine, Smart was 227.2, yet is now listed at 220. He needs to put on major weight to be Smart, that weight/strength is huge for his D.

Yeah Smarts probably a bad comparison. He's more like Walmart Ja Morant. I love how the dude plays tho and think he's going to surprise LOTS of people

One thing I noticed about Davison is that he tries to block shots from behind the shooter when there is traffic close to the basket. He's not tall or long enough to block much on his man face on, but several times he nearly blocked shots...(once he did) positioning himself behind as the shooter was rising up and perhaps bringing the ball more within Davison's reach.

Not to change the subject but all of a sudden the Jazz will make Donovan Mitchell available. I think Danny wants to take a shot at getting Durant.

Larry is a small town Indiana guy, he lives there and works for the Pacers. You can’t be involved with the Celtics doing that.

I wouldn't laugh at the Jazz, it's really something we should be looking at. They went all in for years, didn't develop any young talent and are now rebuilding because they really had no other options. Brad needs to stop trading first round picks or get really good at finding young players other ways. Langford and Nesmith are gone, Pritchard is buried so deep on the bench he likely can't even get minutes.
Just like the Jazz with Mitchell, who's going to be around with Tatum and Brown hit their primes? You'd feel better if you could pencil Robert Williams in for the 6 plus years. He's improving, yet still a question mark going forward.
Don't get me wrong I'm excited for the next few years. Yet Stevens better be careful the way he's going. He's in danger of taking a roster that was too young and making it too old.
