Wait we are blaming him for hitting the WR in the helmet 50 yards down field?
Lost me at that one

Mac Jones can't match up with any good teams in the NFL.

The Patriots got what they deserved. Glad they didn't make the playoffs. They didn't deserve to. It was a joyless season. Such a far cry from how great they used to be. Tough to watch.

Wait we are blaming him for hitting the WR in the helmet 50 yards down field? Lost me at that one I had it closer to 40 yards and yeah absolutely. Heck look at a bunch of his short throws, they were off a lot. He has the ability to make that Parker throw, we saw it a few weeks ago to Thornton. If he can't make big time throws, you can't stretch the D and open things up.

I didn't watch, but Zolak was often irritated by how "off" many of Mac's throws were, even given he was on target more than usual.
It will be interesting to see if this is a blip before things take off again - or the start of a period of mediocrity.
We'll have plenty of time to see how things develop.

I shut it off after the second runback the first one --no excuses--*to open the game, was bad enough. They played well enough to win when they weren't making errors. Which was the theme of the last month. They deserve none of the low keyed positive comments BB made to close out the season. There was nothing to be proud of. They're out and it's deserved.
* On the kickoff you knew Buf was going to be supercharged, the Refs overlooking things, and they were going to receive a very short kick. Pats had to be alert and relentless. Special teams came out with what looked like they were throwing the play, for the TD.

Same situation for me and noticed how he was saying Mac came to play and then his play just started falling off. I really hope Mac just sucks at QB and that a good QB coach and a good play caller who also isn't stretched into doing other jobs can right the ship with him. I'm at a point where maybe you carry 3 QBs next year with guys who have an actual chance to carry on, like a 5th round QB or a retread, like Mayfield in conjuction to Mac and Zappe. Or just trade Mac and bring back Garapollo.

Jimmy G is made out of glass If you have a guy behind him that you trust and want to ease into the starting role Jimmy makes a bit of sense. He is very brittle.

If you bring in a QB it should only be Tom Brady, it's a shame Mac Jones didn't get a season to learn under him. I like Mayfield, yet that will just create more problems. You have Zappe. Maybe some low level dual threat guy to develop over a few years, practice squad type guy. Hoyer needs to go.

Listen, I get not liking Mac, but giving up on him for guys like Zappe and Baker Mayfield is just insanity. Unless you mean as a backup to Mac which yeah I guess... But that shouldn't be the top priority, top priority should be getting Mac an elite target.

Tom Brady had Josh McDaniels for how many years as OC and Mac had him for one and played very well under his tutelage. Even a pro bowler. Now Matt Patricia takes over with a complete new system and features a lot of dink and dunk passes that get swallowed up by defenders for the most part
I would like to see what Mac can do with an actual offensive coordinator before I cut him loose. All i saw from him was blowups and cursing this year. didn't see much of it last year.

Saying only QB you bring in is Tom Brady or a developmental late round practice squad guy. Mayfield was mentioned a few posts before and I really like him, yet I'm passing. Why? Because if you bring in Mayfield it's to replace Mac Jones or compete for starter job. I don't want that drama, Zappe is a fine backup if everything blows up. Mayfield is as good or better than Jones right now, yet I'll bank on Mac Jones upside. He was rather bad at times, yet most young QBs have to struggle to get better. Nevermind Mayfield might have more of an attitude and confidence issue than Mac Jones. Yet it's not crazy either, Bill loved Mayfield at draft time. He has a bunch of talent. Yet agree we have bigger needs and again I don’t want drama. I can take losing and bad football, I can't take anymore drama.
