Looking at the league the only team that currently presents a real challenge is Carolina and the schedule is not kind to the B's They play them at Carolin in the 2nd game of a back to back where the Hurricanes have a rest day and then at Carolina at the end of March in the second game of a back to back for each team but Carolina is at home for both of theirs. DIdn;t see any games against them in Boston. It seems like the degree of difficulty for Boston is quite high this season although they have had more home games early and this will travel more late. Anyway it makes what they have been doing all the more impressive. Go Bruins!!

Degree of difficulty doesn’t matter when you’re the best
Linus may win MVP on top of vezina

I take back everything I said before about how dumb it was for them to sign Ullmark.

If the personel is largely unchanged, but the coach and the approach is different...often the simplest answer is the corret one.

I think health has been the biggest factor in Ullmark’s run. He was coming off of hip surgery to begin last season iirc, it contributed to a slow start. I thought he was great in the 2nd half and I have a hard time pinning his playoff games on him- the bruins no showed on the road that series
Honestly kind of think we see something similar from Story this year for the Sox

That makes sense I see Swayman doing better too. What a perfect mix of goaltending. I’m excited what Sweeney might do at the deadline. That kid playing in Arizona wants out the defenseman. We went down there lost that non icing call. He had a great game.

Tough OT loss
Could’ve iced it on a late 3rd period 5 on 3. No dice.

Watching that game, all day it was like "they kind of look like crap". They fell behind, not showing much, seemed like it was clearly not their day.
But with all I've seen from them this year, I was like, no, gotta watch it through to the end.
And, what do you know? They win another one they have no business winning. What a team.

They can play 20 good minutes most nights and find the win

Man I'm still pissed about the short-handed 2-1 break called offside. The broadcast showed it clearly was not and the ref should be demoted. Not because he got a call wrong but because of the specific situation, he's trained not to call that unless he's 100% certain. Even if it was actually offsides and he allowed it and we had scored they'd replay it and correct it. In other words, he could not fail by letting it go and he most certainly did get it wrong by not following the NHL's own procedure. There really is no excuse for that.

If the personel is largely unchanged, but the coach and the approach is different...often the simplest answer is the corret one. Ocaams Razor is not always the correct answer. The new style the coach brought in helped with the D getting more involved with the Offense which has helped alot. I think the team was tired of Casssidy's voice and they needed a new voice to lead them but it's not merely that simple. Having Krejci back gave the team the top 6 depth they needed. A full season of Hampus gives the Bruins two #1 Defensemen and he's likley in the running for the Norse. Don't forget he missed several games in the 7 game series loss to the Hurricanes and likely would have turned the tide had he been healthy. Finally Ullmark taking his game from a good goalie to THE goalie and would win the Vezina trophy if the season ended today which is just shy of the mid point of the season.

Jake Debrusk playing the best of his roller-coaster career and he ups and fractures his fibula out for 3-6 months. First real big blow in this dream season.

Didn't Carlo do this in late March and then almost make it back for the end of the playoffs (if they had made it gar enough that year)?

4 weeks is the current expect timeline for JDB, per multiple outlets (or maybe just one outlet and I don't have the energy to track down which one was first).

Team needed a little bit of adversity
Top 6 is still a menace even without him
His speed will be missed. He’s really used that as a weapon to not only create scoring chances, but to draw penalties too
