Cool with the Muscala move. His advanced numbers have been good in small samples the last couple of years. Good depth to have given the age and physical state of our frontcourt. I wanted Bamba for the upside, but for a minimal cost it’s all gravy.

I just hope it’s not the high second we have this year considering we don’t have a first rd pick.

This deadline is insanity. There truly ARE infinite 2nd round picks! So many good teams are getting good players for nearly free.
Would have loved Jalen McDaniels instead of Muscala (think I'd have done PP for him, and I'm shocked he was on the market) but still glad we made a decent move.

Buyout market could be quite lucrative.

I’d keep my eye on Terrence Ross in the buyout market

Danny Green on a buyout would be nice. Plus when it comes to the playoffs, he’s been there before. Terrance Ross is perpetually rumored but he’s horrible (on his 3rd negative VORP year in a row lol)

Will Barton getting bought out by Wash. I believe Keith Smith identified him as a potential target for Boston.

I'm good with largely standing pat at the deadline. One good addition, Jackson no loss. As we showed last night, there is a load of talent on this team. If they can get healthy - then the only thing that can stop them is their erratic play/occasional lapses of focus and effort.

Ainge really wanted that 2027 unprotected pick. The Lakers played it right - no point in trading that pick for anything short of a star or a lot of role players. Utah had a chance to get a key asset while helping their draft position this year and clearing money off the books beyond this year. None of those guys on their own were likely getting a first and if they did it was a lower first. Getting the unprotected Laker pick in 2027 is a way better play. I don't blame Danny, even if all 3 were worth 3 late firsts I'd still rather that 2027 pick. He needs to gut the team and tank so his own picks are better. I'm blaming Minnesota and the rest of the league. Vanderbilt might be one of the best value players in the league given his contract and production. Half the league should have been all over him offer picks and young players. That being said it's still like the Wallace trade, good for Danny yet rest of league was like WTF. Lakers not making that trade without Vanderbilt? If I was a Jazz fan that would be my one complaint, why include him when the Lakers as desperate as they are most likely take Russell and Beasley all day long. Not often when it feels Danny left meat on the bone in a trade. To clarify (Athletic): Utah’s part in a three-way deal on Wednesday evening lands the Jazz a top-four protected 2027 first-round pick from the Los Angeles Lakers. In the unlikely event that pick doesn’t convey in the top four, it becomes a second-round pick.

Apparently a team offered 4 1sts for Mikal Bridges. I can’t help but think that was us because the Nets rejected it and we were never connected to him
Imagine a lineup with Jaylen at the 2, Bridges at the 3, and Tatum at the 4. That’s a pretty fun thought

That’s a pretty fun thought It’s a nice thought but no chance the Celtics were offering 4 firsts for Bridges - anyone who did is dumb. Also, the Celtics would have to come up with a lot of salary to match that and they aren’t trading a guy like White and 4 firsts (or 4 firsts) for Bridges.

That's a big gamble by Danny. All or nothing and certainly makes that trade look worse.

I'm still going after Noel if bought out.
The trade was fine. You got better and I'm a huge fan of always doing something to give the team a boost. Yet you added to the strength of the team, rather than getting the backup defensive center or wing you needed.

They have one open roster spot and that’s what they’ll use it on. Getting another big doesn’t make much sense at this point even if you think Noel is a better for them Muscala

Suns made out like absolute bandits and are now instant West favorites, and a true title contender. You do that KD trade 100% of the time. That 4 is an incredible core to build around.
Lakers did pretty well, but I'm not sure why people are acting like D'Angelo Russell, Jared Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley, and Mo Bamba are somehow worldbeaters. LeBron is still 38 with not enough in the tank to play defense, and Davis is made of glass. I think they got incrementally better but still easily a first round exit at best IMO.
I actually love the Muscala trade. Dude is an underrated drop defender, by all accounts great teammate, and a sniper from 3 at 7 feet which is INSANELY hard to find in this league. Does he get playoff minutes, probably not, but huge for 15-20 min bursts to rest Rob and Al more down the stretch.
The four best teams are crystal clear to me: Bucks, Celtics, Nuggets, and Suns in some order. Going to be a fun and wide open playoffs.

Incredible core to build around? 37 year old Chris Paul and 34 year old KD? Both that can't seem to stay healthy anymore. That's an all in you better win in the next two years or you blew up a very nice young core and the team's future for nothing move.

Derrick White just played one of the best halves I ever seen in a Celtics jersey. Just hitting everything, moving well, being a menace all around. What an absolute PLAYER.

As a mostly box score viewing Celtics fan, I feel like a Jaylen Brown facial injury keeping him out is about the best possible bad news the team could get. Not something that lingers once he's back and forces some rotation players to get more development/minutes. Then Brown comes back fully rested for the end of the season and playoffs. Only downside is potentially losing the #1 seed which as someone else pointed out, has actual larger implications as of now.
