2 (potentially) interesting absences from Mandatory Mini-Camp as Trent Brown and Lawrence Guy (Reiss reports that it is likely contract related on LG) were not at the facility.
EDIT - Looks like Brown's absence is due to weather (flight cancelled due to hail storm).

Patriots waived James Robinson, per reports.
EDIT - Tae Hayes, too. Justus Tavai re-signed.
DJ FLuker worked out today.

Cross your fingers, that was my fear with Robinson. Guy didn't even make it to mini camp. Now you have last years RB group minus Harris. An injury or two and things could get ugly fast. They should bring in another RB for at minimum training camp.

Interesting partial glance at all teams Salary Cap relative to "core" players from Over the Cap:

Yeah tons of cap space, tons of guys who might get massive contracts. Not the worst problem to have.
Now it's crazy early and might mean nothing. Yet reports have the offense not looking great, while the D does. Not surprising, yet because people like the coach most reports are positive, unlike last year.
Trent Brown played one drill, threw a bag and was sent to lower field. This after missing his flight and no other workouts. No wonder they brought in Fluker for a workout. Something to keep an eye on. Anderson has taken every snap at LT during scrimmages.
Some other interesting things, Marte has played everywhere from on line to FS. Jon Jones played some free safety. Marcus Jones is acting as #4 CB.
Still like the idea of Mills as a sub guy, with someone else at FS. You need Marcus Jones on the field and Mills best role is as a matchup guy you can move all over the field.

Interesting partial glance at all teams Salary Cap relative to "core" players from Over the Cap: Miguel @ PatsCap has informed us that Patriots have considerable cap space next year so that was no surprise to see where they place on the graph. What was delightful to see is what 3 teams comprise the most unfavorable positioning on the graph -- yes, Jets, Phins, Bills.

Jack Jones was arrested because he tried to bring guns on a plane at Logan today like a total moron

Seeing unlawful, not unregistered, I hope that's true. It's the reason he was rated 6th/7th round in draft, it wasn't talent it was multiple off field crap at multiple programs. One year here crap with Bill and rehab, calling out people on Twitter and now two guns in an airport.
My question how did he get them here? I'm pro 2nd amendment, get your license and you can check any guns you want when you fly!
On the same day an NBA star just got suspended 25 games for flashing a gun. It's Massachusetts some of, if not the strictest gun laws in the Country.

Jack Jones is a complete moron. He could be making JC Jackson money in 3 years. Instead he’s gonna be helping coach his nephew’s pee wee football team.

If he’s lucky, if they’re not lawful guns he could very well see prison time in MA. And quite frankly if he didn’t have money he definitely would see prison time My brother found an uzi in a community leaf pile while landscaping. He reported it immediately and good thing because I’m pretty sure that’s an automatic 5 in MA if you’re caught with it. Not the state to mess around with guns in!

Prior to this week I was predicting 8-9. My rationale was: in terms of personnel both offense and defense are slightly better than last year, Bill O'Brien should be a big improvement, but their schedule is tougher this year.
Comparing this year's projected roster to where we were at the end of the of last year.
QB same.
RB worse - Harris >>Robinson.
WR same.
TE better- Jonnu sucked, Geisecki sucks at blocking but may be a better passcatcher, the Harvard dude gives us better depth than we've had the last few years.
OT starters same, depth better. Brown is back again. Wynn has generally been fairly good when he's on the field - although he was not so good last year. Reiff will be 35 midway though this year. He has been ok the last few years.
IOL starters same, depth might be slightly better.
CB/FS gained Gonzalez but lost McCourty...same.
SS added Mapu to an already strong group. Better depth I guess.
ILB same
OLB same
DE Wise was good. Guy was not so good. White may be an improvement over Guy.
DT same
K/P/LS no idea
O'Brien / Klem should be a big upgrade over last years dumpster fire....however
This years schedule is tougher than last years. Last years team was 8-9.
Thats what I was thinking a week ago. After this week, Im not sure they even get to 7-10.

We need to be completely sure that those guns were Jack’s. I’m thinking Myles Bryant planted them to ensure a roster spot

I’m guessing he’ll get off with probation. But I have a strong feeling this is a violation of his parole in Foxborough.

The good news is that he wasn't an important piece to the Patriots defense or anything.
I like how he called out Ja Morant last month and now he's going to jail for gun charges.
One of his charges has a minimal sentence of 2 1/2 years.

They cut Robinson, Pierre Strong seems to be the #1 backup and I imagine Kevin Harris will be on the roster too Wynn is a dolphin now Yes. They let Harris go and replaced him with Robinson, which was a downgrade. Then they let Robinspn go this week. On the tackles, I was trying to say my expectations for Wynn and Reiff is comparable. Perhaps that was not clear.

Jack Jones was arrested because he tried to bring guns on a plane at Logan today like a total moron I’ll make you laugh, I wrote on bleacher report about this, by saying Jones was just testing the security at Logan Airport. I can’t believe a person or two actually believed me .

Can you believe that. No matter but it was why is this picture out now and not 3 months ago.

One more thing the reason why I came here to post, I am telling you as a fan of this franchise always be one because I rooted for them when there was no chance. But coach Bill, if this Tackle issue becomes a real problem and all season he does nothing. Comparing to last season with the offensive coordinator fiasco. I have no problem if he is relieved of his duties in the off-season and M ayo can start and it’s his turn. My opinion only .

Good thing NE picked up Gonzalez in the draft. At this point, I wouldn't count on Jack Jones ever appearing again in a Patriots uniform.

If he gets cut, it’s because Kraft did it. Kraft is no dummy and doesn’t want anything to hurt his franchise no matter how good the guy is.
BB, not so fast.

I’d let everything play out, wouldn’t cut him until there’s an actual lengthy prison sentence

Reading up on the Arizona gun laws and they amaze me. No license, simple gun class, yet the most shocking part is they don't register the weapons.
