I can see the sense in getting Kyle Lowry, I just don't want to watch his antics. Guy drives me nuts, yet he'd likely be a good veteran leader. I used to respect him, but he’s turned into one of the dirtiest players in the league. Pass.

I watched some Walsh highlights, he’s really good at cutting and finding cutters

In fairness, Dort is a very interesting comp, if you focus on the impact he made during the playoffs his rookie year. You'll recall that he was the breakout name mostly due to his relentless defense on Harden. If Walsh can have a similar impact while waiting for his shot to develop, we've got a keeper. Sure if you're using Dort to say look how he might help us. I'd point out Dort was a much better scorer, leading his team, Walsh was 7th, 16 points to 7 points a game. Yet I can envision Walsh being big on D with the right matchup in a playoff series. Say Giannis and the Bucks. That's fair, yet also not what the comp was being used for. This was about he's the best Celtics defender day one. I hate this crap, makes it seem like I'm down on Walsh and I'm not. His upside as a defender is massive long-term. I don’t even think Giannis is the matchup for Walsh right now. He’s pretty thin. But there’s only one player on the Celtics who can navigate screens and mirror like Walsh, Derrick White, who was probably their best defender last year. And there’s only one player with Walsh’s wingspan, Timelord, who was their most impactful prior to injuries. That’s an unreal combination, but Walsh also has a relentless attitude and communicates constantly. I think this is a very special defender. You obviously don’t see it at the same level right away. If we’re done with the grandstanding, I’m fine moving on.

Would have liked to see our 2 Euro draft and stash guys on the summer league roster just to get a look at if they are developing or not. Begarin, the French kid, is kinda plateauing. But Madar had an excellent year and warrants a serious look. I think his floor would be an immediate wash from what Pritchard would provide with a little more playmaking, with a ceiling of a playoff rotation guy as the backup PG. I think Begarin not coming to SL is an indication that he's not where the team wants him to be. Madar's lack of attendance seems to be a move to secure a camp invite and a tacit acknowledgement that he's in the mix for this year.

Go to the award and leader boards at bottom of all 3 players. Walsh didn't have the biggest impact on his own College team. Robert Williams was a two time SEC defensive player of the year, he's one of the best defenders in SEC history. White one year in Pac-12 makes all defensive team beating everyone of Walsh stats as a guard, even block rate lol. One thing Walsh destroys both at? 3rd in SEC in fouls, something White and Williams playing more minutes never even get into top 20. His next best stat 20th in defensive box score in SEC, yet not in top 20 of defensive win shares or defensive rating. That backs up what I saw on tape. All the tools and ability to be a great defender, yet he has a ways to go. Both Robert Williams and White entered NBA as much better defenders and it took them years to become all nba type defenders. Now it's he's better than both right now, which isn't backed up on tape and certainly isn't backed up with advanced stats. So at start of season if Walsh is our best defender, you can take a few hundred victory laps. Until that happens there's nothing else to discuss. I think in time he has a chance to be a very special defender, not day one. Heck I think he spends a lot of time in the g-league, yet who knows about that.

Not because they had nothing going on and made the decision not to come. Begarin seems years away, if he's ever ready. Madar has made great strides, winning best young player in Euro league. Yet still very limited minutes. Just my opinion yet I don't think he's a wash with Pritchard yet. At same time I wouldn't mind making him 3rd PG and getting him ready. Start that adjustment to NBA. Yet it's a hard call, maybe more time in Euro league is good for him. At a certain point though, if he becomes good enough you face the challenge of trying to get him over because he'll be making way more in Europe and the new CBA makes that even harder. There will be no giving him mid-level money, just 2nd round pick money. He's the one that has me excited.

There is plenty he will need to work on. He will probably be in the g league. It won’t be for his defensive ability. He’s a little clumsy with his hand eye. But he’s gonna be a total pain to play against.

I think Celtics might move Timelord and Brogdon. With Porzingis now in the fold, you can’t risk it when 3 of your top 7 are always hurt come playoffs.
I wouldn’t mind trading Timelord, Brogdon and maybe next year’s first for Harden. Pretty similar impact to Brogdon just

I'd be shocked if MK is back, third year he's improved and teared up G-league. With no NBA team giving him a chance.
You can't trade Robert Williams, he's a steal at what he makes even with injuries. I also think his new style will help him with injuries going forward. He hasn't been your issue the last two playoff losses!
I'm certainly open to trading Brogdon, yet waiting on Grant Williams news. As that determines your needs. If you do it should be about more future flexibility, not less
I'm 100% against trading for an aging Harden and that roster long-term is a disaster.
Grant Williams leaves, you want to keep Brogdon. Pritchard for Jarred Vanderbilt would make sense. Obviously this means you bring in a veteran guard. Yet only if you run a ball movement offense, he's not a fit in iso ball where everyone else just sits on 3 point line.
Oh yeah don't give Jaylen Brown the super max, it just went up to 306 million. I love the guy, he's not that type of player.

Zero percent chance the Sixers make a deal with the Celtics but I’ll puke if Brad tries to bring in Harden. Did we not all just see how washed he was between the two throwback games he had? No thanks

It's amazing the moves the new CBA rules are already getting teams to do and it seems only the new taxes are in effect this year. Yet per Hollinger teams haven't even received the revised CBA rules yet, talk about waiting till last minute.
The free agent options have gotten a lot better if you plan on using mid-level or even for minimum wage guys.

Supposedly the Clippers re-engaged the Celtics about Brogdon… Was wondering if that would happen given they would now have time to due a physical. No Grant Williams, Covington, Hyland, Preston and a 1st. Lower tax bill, adds assets and young players. Hyland has rather crazy per 36 minute stats. I loved Preston's passing when he was coming out. Stick it to them Stevens.

New report saying Clippers don't want to trade Hyland, which isn't surprising. Report Celtics interested in Patrick Beverly, which makes sense.
Unicorn gets 2 years 60 million extension. Green gets 4 years 100 million, Horford is making $10 million.
Suns signing every minimum wage veteran that will sign a contract.
The crappy teams giving out massive deals like always.

With these contracts being thrown around you can’t really argue Jaylen isn’t a super max guy… if anything it will be a tradable contract m.

Apparently the Celtics are showing interest in Terence Davis, I like him as a bench scorer
Linked to Pat Bev which makes sense given the loss of Smart
