Jordan Walsh makes his first three 3’s in summer league. First two shots looked more on balance than third. Those shots/makes were a surprise as were the commentators' identifying him as a 3 or 2 and D guy based on historical stats and scouting reports. He was certainly a hustler, but I thought that his lateral quickness was less than I anticipated. He didn't drive effectively to the basket. Yeah I agree. Some reps are very strong with the lateral movement. Some look like he’d rather play in trail technique. I don’t trust the offense at all.

I gather that is when he trails the player with the ball and tries to block/defend from behind. I saw some of that. Again last night he had some opportunities to drive to the basket or drive and pull up short range, but passed them up. He exerts a lot of energy for sure. Like most rookies, he will be a work in progress.

Kinda disappointing summer league so far. Davison is a guy you'd hope takes a big leap, yet kinda of the same guy. Polish center hasn't done much, guy from Hungary who looked great on tape hasn't even played. Scrubb has been good at scoring, yet where are the rebounds, assists, etc. Former Jazz center had a good night, after a not good game.

I thought that Davison looked slower than last year altho bulked up a bit. Scrubb and Walsh to me looked the best so far. Neither center impressed greatly. It's a ho hum team after 2 games.

I like Jordan Walsh. Think he'll be a solid Dorian Finney-Smith/Shane Battier type with Iguodala ultimate upside case. Nice glue guy snag in the 2nd round.

with a top Turkish team too, good to see Madar highly regarded. Hopefully the deal he signed has opt outs because they could use another ball handler

I think this is fair overall, but to me it looks like we stole a first round talent in Walsh in the 2nd round (plus extra picks trading down). Even if that's all we get, it's a win IMO

Thought Walsh was impressive last night I didn't stay up but noticed from the stats that neither team shot well...around 40%. Was this the result of tenacious defense or other in your opinion? I did see that Walsh hit a couple of 3s...2-7 among his 25 points. It's great to beat the Lakers anytime. From what I'm reading, they will be damn formidable this season. Please LeBron, finally get old.

Walsh reminds me of a skinny Igoudala without the same handle and passing chops. The shot is very similar (arm dominant, arrhythmic), but he easily projects as one of the better wing defenders in the league.

I've noticed that stand out in the prior two games...just can't seem to clear and drive to the hoop.

He showed some solid body control when being contested in the paint. Shot is very hit or miss. Plays very hard on both ends and defensively I was impressed with his ability to stay with smaller guards. He picked a couple pockets too IMO his potential is that of a good role player. If he improves his 3 pt shot to solid he’ll play in the league for a decade. With his defense he has a higher floor than what most people his age picked in the same spot have. He’s never going to be a primary scoring option though and frankly I wouldn’t expect him to be as a 2nd round pick

Walsh's core offensive skills aren't well suited to summer league, where certain skills (ball handling, scoring off the dribble) shine while others (ball movement, cutting) aren't rewarded because guys gunning for jobs tend not to want to play team basketball.
On defense, while Walsh is definitely an above-average defender now with great length, an excellent motor and solid athleticism, he's also pretty jumpy and sometimes defends out of control (i.e., too aggressively). He's going to get a lot of touch fouls (because he's a big gangly rookie) and guys like Jimmy Butler are going to shred him on pump fakes and dribble moves. He might become one of the better defenders in the league in time, but he's not close to there in his rookie year.

Will he make the club or get a 2 way?

So basically the pick swap is bogus and won’t happen unless the wording is terrible in how they are describing it.

Even if that's all we get, it's a win IMO Maybe, I think that will take time to figure out. For example Scrubb was our best player, they put him on the 2nd string, why? I'm guessing to see what Walsh could do offensively. Walsh nothing really changed for me, he's got good upside. Scrubb was easily the best player and started filling up the stat sheet the more he played. At the same time he doesn't really fill a need either. The rest was rather bad and I thought some of the guys deserved 2 way contracts and even a chance to earn a regular contract in training camp. Now it's go sign a veteran or wait till cut down day. That might be harsh given its only summer league, just not impressed.
