I miss meaningful September games. I also miss the Blue Jays being perpetual third place finishers

So, 74-74. Last year after 148 games we were 72-76 then finished up 6-8.

Well at least our tankathon competitors are doing what we want them to do, which is winning. The Marlins and Reds lead and the SFG have grabbed an early lead. D-Backs play the Cubbies later.
We can do this!
Someone said the MFYs, Mets and Pads will have their R1 picks pushed back by 10 spots for LTT sins? That means it doesn't matter whether we finish ahead of the MFYs. Either way they'll draft after us.
So, if we finish as the 13th or 14th crappiest team we'll draft 11th, as long as none of our competitors finish ahead of us...or behind us...whatever.

What is your methodology for making such an outlandish claim (ie, he's not trying because ...)? My assessment is he’s trying but isn’t very good. By B-Ref WAR, he's the second best position player they have with his 2.9 WAR, so he is good. I still hope they explore what they might get for him, as I don't think he's worth the extension it would cost to sign him, and I'm not interested in what he might give us in 2024, which I don't see as a GFIN season.

His history of letting his moods impact his play or behavior can't be discounted. I would be very happy to say farewell to him.

Yankees score 4 in top9 to come from behind and beat the Pirates and pull ahead of the Sox in the standings.

Reds and Marlins have both won. SFG lead the Rox 1-0 in the 7th. I'd love to see Little Yaz go deep to pad that lead.
I know I sound pathetic, but this is what Septembers have become for RS fans.😠

There should be a prize to anyone who correctly predicted the Sox win total before the season. Who’s got the spreadsheet handy? My 88 win prediction is still alive! I think I was at 78 wins. I need to reconfirm.

Home sweet home. They got the basement to themselves where I suspect they'll wind up?
Can they go 8-6 to make history? At this point, doubtful, but crazier things have happened.

I actually believe that if Kluber was a solid #3 with the same innings as last year, we'd be a playoff team right now. Huge ripple effect.

If either Chang or Urais is the 2b in 2024, the new POBO has not been "bold" enough in their 1st off season !

The Rox just walked the SFG off in the bottom of the 9th. But the D-Backs are creaming the Cubs. All in all a good night in the drive to beef up the first draft of the Theo Era 2.0. 😄

That is a rough defensive OF… you go Duran-Rafaela-Verdugo, it is good.

Interesting that the Braves were not considered “elite” prior to the season. And…about those “elite” teams anyway… Elite: Astros, Mets, Yanks, Dodgers (6-1 to 8-1) Contenders: Padres, Braves, Phillies, Mariners, Blue Jays (10-1 to 16-1) Next: White Sox, Guardians, Cardinals, Rays (20-1 to 30-1) Mid-Tier: Angels, Brewers, Orioles, Giants, Rangers (40-1 to 50-1) Meh: Twins, Red Sox, Cubs (60-1 to 80-1) Bad: Marlins, Diamondbacks, Tigers, Royals (100-1 to 150-1) Awful: Rockies, Pirates, Reds, Athletics, Nationals (200-1 to 500-1) Sox were pegged beautifully as “meh”.

The guy who runs the team got fired, nothing matters anymore!
Would still prefer them to score at least one (1) run tho!

Rafaela at 2B is too much of a defensive spectrum step down.
