I would be completely fine with Urias as the starting 2B next season. He’s playing on and off and is still getting on base at a .348 clip. Take that with his decent pop and slot it 8th and you should be happy.

With Casas, Duran, Story starting in the IF , making 2B the only position available to try and replace Turner’s amazing RHB. Not sure Urias is THAT person. Then again, I can’t really find a suitable FA or trade available who might actually be THAT RHB person at 2B. Am I missing something. I know I/we will miss Turner if he goes.

If either Chang or Urais is the 2b in 2024, the new POBO has not been "bold" enough in their 1st off season ! I didn't say starter. I'm OK with Reyes or with Story at 2B and Rafaela at SS. Rafaela at 2B is too much of a defensive spectrum step down. What reason is there for thinking Rafaela would be better than Story at SS? Story is now again an excellent SS. Let's not conflate Rafaela's truly outstanding defense in CF (plus plus) with his pretty good work at SS (plus).

I get why people aren't happy with Story and the deal so far but remove his poor hitting this year he's still an excellent defender at SS. Why would they want to move him off that position for Rafaela? Story is a better defensive SS than Rafaela.

Roughly 6 months ago, this is unfortunately aging pretty well. (and Yes, I have plenty that aren't aging well, lol)

I actually believe that if Kluber was a solid #3 with the same innings as last year, we'd be a playoff team right now. Huge ripple effect. i don't know phils........between the prolonged offense lapses and the shaky D, I am not sure they aren't performing right to where they should be.

I think if Kiké and Kluber had merely been subpar disappointments rather than atrocious (say, combining for 2 WAR rather than -2.5), this team is right there with the Mariners, Blue Jays, and Rangers. Just superficially it's a 4.5-win swing, and then there are the ripple effects you allude to... the team might be at 80 or 81 wins right now.

Are we trying to win these last games?
Lineup already has been changed - Abreu is in, no Casas
In the line up - Verdugo .205-1-3 in Sept Duvall - .088-1-2 Yoshida - .214-2-6 Story - .163-1-7 Urias - .208-0-1

You have to play Story. He’s missed a ton of time and needs the reps. Urias is trying out for 2b. Yoshida is a commitment, so let him ride. Casas is hurt. 🤷♂️ Add: my only complaint is the card should have Rafaela stamped in CF for the rest of the season. The rest is noise.

No Abreu, no Rafaela in today's line up. Duvall, Masa, Story bat 5, 6, 7. Or as they are better known: Strikeout, groundout, strikeout.

We have the GIDP perfected I felt like the Red Sox grounded into tons of them but they're actually 15th in MLB. I guess a better way to measure would be GDP per opportunity but I have no idea how to find that.

Sale looking okay. But his pitches get destroys by the next 2 inning with hangers like that. Happened all year.

Guys coming off injuries, especially prolonged injuries, can not be relied upon and thus is not equivalent to a mid season acquisition. They're wild cards with a likely readjustment period. When the Sox do nothing, but say, "well we're getting this guy back who hasn't played in 3 months" I'll never accept that as an answer.

These past 11 innings have been as monotonous as watching a lineup of factory workers punch in
