Looks like Judon might be shooting his way out of town. Hope they get a tackle for him.

If BB was in charge, he'd be gone by now.

Mayo has already said that he has no issues about players talking to the press about their contracts. This isn't surprising, you either give Judon an extension or one of those one year mini bumps in pay. $6.5 million in actual pay for a player of Judons caliber is crazy low.
Bill gave those mini one year raises to great players like Gronk all the time to keep them happy.
Even if you are in the camp of trade Judon, give him a slight pat raise, get him playing and trade him at the NFL trade deadline. It's likely the difference in a late round pick now and a 2nd/3rd in a few months!

Seems like they could easily bump up his pay this year and, as you suggest, it'd be worth it (even accounting for whatever injury risk one might argue there is with him now).
My guess (and it IS just that) is that this has to do with future years.

My guess (and it IS just that) is that this has to do with future years. They could do that. Sure. But also they are trying to establish a new regime and their way of conducting business. If a healthy but unhappy player is allowed to dictate practice terms, aren't they saying, in effect, "It's okay for Judon now and you you and you next time?" Some sort of line has to be drawn, somewhere. It'll be interesting to see where Mayo & company decide to draw theirs.

Sure but if the bump this year was all that it would take, it probably wouldn't have come to this.
I'm not taking a side on this, tbc. Just suggesting that it might be the bump this year wasn't going to get it done.

Judon would be a great veteran presence, but he's not a long-term core guy. They aren't going to be a playoff team this year. If they can't come to a reasonable term then just trade him and establish you're not going to break the bank on guys still on term and that guys can just hold out and get more money. His leadership will be missed, but the new regime needs to also be in control.

We don't know what's going on fully. Maybe the Patriots want a long-term deal and look at a one year pay bump as a last resort. Maybe that's Judons feeling. We also don't know what Judon wants and what Patriots are offering. We do know they are working on an extension and clearly Judon wants more something be it years, money, guaranteed money or all of it.
Again many great Pass Rushers have had great careers last into mid and even late 30s, some don't. I'm willing to bet on Judon being darn good for ages 32, 33, 34 and 35. You don't easily replace elite pass rushers and have we had a better one than Judon?
As far as drawing lines, it's rather basic for players to holdout during earlier parts of training camp. He's actually at camp, which is more than most do.
Trading him leaves a massive need for edge rushers next year and makes it a huge need area.
Please just Pay Judon!

This thing stinks.Mayo’s anti belichick routine is disrespectful and tone deaf. Maye and Judon being the only players getting the “tough love, gotta earn it” shtick.
Mayo’s been running his mouth about creating a player friendly environment and the front office has extended/paid every mediocre to better player on a 4 win team. So it’s no surprise that the best player wants a new contract too.

Judon is 32 coming off of a season ending injury, they want to see him on the field before giving him a big pay day. That’s reasonable! The other guys that got extended played all year last year! Didn’t they do a restructure for him to get him more cash up front last year anyway and then he got injured?
Me personally? I’d send him to a contender

Who's saying that? They've seen Judon on the field, seems he drew line of playing with Pads without new deal.
What is the worry about a bicep tear? What do you need to see on the field? BTW reports were he could have come back, they held him out in a lost season.
He played 4 games last year, 4 sacks and 11 total pressures with 16 tackles and a safety. He didn't show any decline and was a beast. Pass rush fell apart after his injury and Uche disappeared.
If this was some other injury like ACL, Achilles or something like that I'd feel different. You can go watch him lift weights and tell if he's 100%.
It's going to be crazy hard to get any meaningful value now from a trade and we have crazy amounts of money still. Only way I'd even consider trading him is if he's demanding some massive deal and won't play without it. Example our DT wanting top of the market run stuffing money.

I would imagine that is the case or he’d probably be signed. They played well without him last year and he’s 32. I don’t really want to extend him for years/huge money, especially since he might be the difference between us winning 3 games or 5 games. Ship him out to a contender for a mid round pick and move on from the distraction

Purple character concerns. Grey multiple positions. Red was medical. Pink was size or speed issue. Yellow was not specified tho.

I must know what the yellow on Joe Milton means Means “draft him and put him in random Hail Mary downs”. I know that umass doesn’t agree with me, but play into his nickname. Let him bazooka the ball real far.

I'm really curious what yellow was seeing as Milton is the only yellow. I feel like his name was just highlighted or the person filled with the wrong color as it's the default.

Ship him out to a contender for a mid round pick and move on from the distraction Go on X and you can see him playing, like him intercepting Drake Maye in practice last week. He literally went out and proved he's healthy. Per reports I'm seeing they've offered to redo his deal this year. He wants an extension, pay the man, he's likely our best player! What else are we spending the crazy money we have on? Players like Godchaux? I don't get paying everyone else and not him. I don't agree about 3 and 5 wins. Again I'll add unless he wants something crazy. Patriots have leverage, do a 3 year extension, with an out after two years. I really can't believe so many people just want to let a player the Caliber of Judon leave for a mid round pick.
