It's not ALL bad according to OL analyst Brandon Thorn: Funny because I saw others talk about how bad he was.

So who wins the kicker battle? It's been about even. I'd pick Ryland because he's younger and showed improvement over last year, but based on results it's a coin flip. I’d pick Sly without a second thought and hope to keep Ryland on the practice squad. He’s improved too and it’s not surprising when kickers break out late.

You can go on PUP now without having to make initial 53 right?

Wallis looks like a zero on offense. Milton hit him for a touchdown last night and he barely threw an arm up. At least Reagor makes contact with the ball before he drops it. Does it matter? Neither are going to see anytime at WR unless we get destroyed by injuries. At least with Wallis you can hope maybe he gets better with good coaching, that ship has sailed with Reagor at WR. Yes, most things being equal, it does matter.

Milton was a wasted pick. Could’ve taken Tanner McLachlan there and got a potential TE of the future. Instead they drafted a guy that does backflips and will be out of the NFL in two years

You can go on PUP now without having to make initial 53 right? Not PUP. IR. I believe it's 2 of your 8 players eligible can be placed on IR tomorrow (as part of the cutdown). The other 6 need to be on the initial 53??? PUP rules are the same. Only players on Active PUP (Bourne, Strange, Takitaki) can go on Reserve PUP

Well things aren't equal, one is clearly better by a wide margin. We are talking 6th WRs and will be 7th when Bourne is healthy. Doesn't really matter neither should make it, practice squad them till you figure out the roster. Bolden and Jones are both great returners.

Well I think they both suck and the margin isn’t that significant. But if you want to continue arguing the chasm that exists between David Wallis and Jalen Reagor, have at it my friend.

Wilcox cut basically securing Bell’s spot, not that he was really in question.

Kevin Harris waived, that is a bit surprising

Just the start, I expect they cut something like to 50 players and claim multiple players. Harris is unlikely to be claimed and just like Bill would do he might be on 53 come game one after they look at other players.
I fully expected Zappe, I dont agree. Heck in preseason games he was your 2nd best QB after Maye, but they had to draft Joe Milton after drafting Maye.
If they cut Boutte, I'm going to be pissed.

Remember when they gave him the majority of the reps in a preseason game, and then were taken by surprise when Drake Maye was good.

What did you think happened?

I don’t think they were “surprised” the guy they happily picked 3rd was good They were actively shopping the pick for multiple first rounders, they’ve been leaking to the media that Drake is further behind they they thought all summer, and yes, they failed to evaluate Drake because they decided to give a sub par quarterback the majority of reps in a preseason game. Wake up! This team seems disorganized and incompetent.

Telling me to wake up while spewing chemtrails level conspiracy nonsense. Up there with “Jordan Walsh is the best defender on the Celtics”

Everything the Patriots have done is to basically make it harder for Maye to start game 1. You only do that if you know how good he is and that in a legit QB competition he easily wins. Which I agree with, especially with this OL and the opening teams we face. Mayo just didn't handle it words wise well with the press.
That first game was about getting Mayes feet wet and not risking injury due to weather and OL. Go look at McCarthy getting 30 snaps, cost him the season.

Can someone explain the practice squad to me? What is the purpose of it if another team can sign your guys off of it?
