That was quite possibly the most predictable grand slam in history. If my son didn't have my phone I was going to post grand slam in t - 3...2...Sure, the ump missed strike one, but Henderson did not miss strike two..

At least the bomb negated the huge hissy fit we'd all be having about "ball" one to Henderson... I thought Angel Hernandez was in disguise back there

Jeez...tough crowd. good contact on 3-2, run scores, and folks are giving Dom the business. WTF ? In my rulebook, getting picked off, 2nd base no less -- gets the business. Especially when the offender is barely hanging onto his job here. It's not personal; it's in the rulebook. understandable, but i am gonna opt for glass half full with the outcome.

Have to agree with Ben here, although I don't have the same vitriol some have towards the DomFather, he's not a burner, he should not be dancing off second like that. But currently we have far greater concerns with Kutter, his velo is down, and he's missing up, which are recipes for disaster.

Wonder how much of our (non-Houck) starters' rapid regression is just due to the fact that the league has figured out how to predict the Bailey-driven pitch mix?
I still love what he's done, but the bloom may be off the rose.

I still love what he's done, but the bloom may be off the rose. I was wondering this myself. But Houck's kept it up, Bello hasn't really gotten worse, Criswell was never gonna be perfect, and Pivetta's season was disrupted by that injury. Bullpen continues to be sharp too. So it really just comes down to Crawford regressing.

I still love what he's done, but the bloom may be off the rose. I don't think it's the pitch mix, I think it's the execution and the stuff. Kutter seems to have lost 2-3 mph off his fastball and he's missing location up consistently. If we had more options it wouldn't be a bad idea to have him skip a start or two, but we have to go with the hand we've been dealt. Bello has had similar issues since he returned from the IL. He's missing spots, and even though everyone raves about his stuff, it's only good if he executes and he knows where it's going. We don''t have anyone who can really get away with mistakes at all.

When the Sox lose this they will be 1-5 against Baltimore. I respect their strategically losing in a way that will most screw over the Yankees

I`d like the hitters to work the pitchers more to get the pitch counts up. Burnes can go another inning with 88 so far.

Also if Crawford had gotten just one of three guys out before the grand slam he's got 0 (1?) runs allowed in the 6th inning. There have been a few starts like that recently, where it's really a pretty fine line between what they're doing now and what they were doing in April. (Or to put it another way, there were some lucky escapes in the April starts that were separated by a very fine line from going a lot worse.)

Nothing about tonight's game is a tragedy. You don't expect to beat a 100ish win team on the road against their ace. Crawford didn't melt the pen - really, did a good job to gut it out.
1 of 3 at Camden is respectable by any sane measure.
Hand the ball to Anderson for three and hope something good happens.

Smith at .187 and Grissom at .137 are a pretty gaping hole in this line up. 73 at bats for Grissom - getting to be a lot.
Just turned the game on. Looked at the box - the grand slam really skews the game - score and box differ by that slam. Crawford aside from that seems like he has been fine.

Crawford pitched 6 innings with 4 hits and 2 walks allowed. That is not a horrible start. It is just that all the damage was in one inning. Agree with Anderson for two innings to finish.
