Question: Is Hamilton actually a guy? He’s looking solid.

Question: Is Hamilton actually a guy? He’s looking solid. I have to say, it feels really weird to me that when he comes up to bat with RISP, I actually feel pretty good about the situation. Definitely not something I would have imagined 6 weeks ago.

Question: Is Hamilton actually a guy? He’s looking solid. I think so. He's one of the best few baserunners in the league, his batted ball numbers look reasonably sustainable, he runs an excellent chase rate and his defense while not great has stabilized. The models are saying he's a 2-3 WAR guy and his current performance is on that track.

Duran is on pace for 23 triples (technically 23.5) this year. The last time someone had 23 was Curtis Granderson in 2007. The last time someone had more than 23 was Kiki Cuyler in 1925.*
*to the best I could find in 2 minutes of research

Pivetta only at 80 pitches - with a 6-0 lead do you pull him early?
6 innings, 1 hit, 2 BB, 8 k’s. He now has a 3.48 ERA

Devers heard us doubting his worthiness for the all star roster. Now #10 in MLB in wRC+ and T-#13 in home runs.

It doesn't seem to me that guys like him have been doing all that well in FA recently. Feels like he should be signable for something reasonable.

I don't know why O’Neill can't be the DH. That knee is killing the Sox
Cooper needs to get in for garbage time. Thought he was sort of OF ...

Two baseball groupies from Southie run round the outside, round the outside, round the outside.
Guess who's back, Nicky's back, back again, guess who's back, guess who's back, Pivetta's back. Tell a friend.
Yeah, I'm really lame, sorry

The thing about signing Pivetta is, who do you send to the bullpen once they sign Burnes, Fried, or Sasaki? They've already got Houck, Bello, Crawford, and Giolito locked into the rotation.
(Personally I'd be happy with a 6-man rotation, which becomes a 5-man rotation whenever someone's hurt - which would be much of or all the time - but I'm not expecting that approach from Breslow.)

I'll play with this theoretical, pay down Giolito's deal and ship him somewhere else Chris Sale style.

It’s not impossible, but I’d bet against Giolito being ready for opening day

I would happily look forward to wringing my hands in April wondering what the Sox will do with the extra starter !!

Jordan Montgomery (6.41 ERA) and Snell (12 ERA) doing yeoman work to reign in the FA pitching market for next year.

Well and heck, I forgot about Whitlock. I realize he's no guarantee to last in the rotation but Pivetta (on top of Burnes/Fried/Sasaki) would give them 7 starters.
