I saw a stat on Corbin Burns. This is his 4th consecutive year of declining K% and is likely to be a career low. His August is a career low for monthly. He's still obviously pitching well but that's scary considering how much he's likely to get. I think the total he gets is substantially lower than the $300M that’s been thrown around here. I’m quite out on Burnes for several reasons, and you listed the headliners. Seems obvious Boston will sign/trade for (at least) 1 SP, it’s fun to speculate who that will be.

From MLB: Orioles: RHP Corbin Burnes In the first half, Burnes was exactly as advertised -- an All-Star ace who recorded a 2.43 ERA over his first 19 starts for Baltimore, putting himself in the American League Cy Young Award conversation. The second half has not gone nearly as smoothly for the 29-year-old right-hander, who has a 4.97 ERA in nine starts since the All-Star break. With how banged up the Orioles’ rotation has been this season, they need to be able to count on Burnes to lead the staff down the stretch and into the postseason. They hope that his most recent start vs. the White Sox on Monday (five innings with two runs allowed, only one earned) was a step in the right direction. -- Jake Rill

I wanted Crocket at the trade deadline until he said through his agent that he wouldn't pitch in the post season without a contract in place. That's not the character of somebody I would want to root for.
I still think Seattle looks like the perfect offseason match for the Sox. They have the opposite situation, a wealth of starters in the majors and in the pipeline but a severe shortage of hitters.
White Sox for Drew Thorpe looks like a multiple good but not great players for one pitcher type swap candidate.
