Jermaine Dye should’ve been out when he rounded third and never retouched the bag returning to second in the 11th inning of the 19 inning game against the White Sox in 2006. Instead, he scored the tying run and the Red Sox ended up losing. This was a formative moment in my life as it was when I first discovered the refs are out to get my favorite team.

I want a five-run lead heading in the 9th. Their offense is that potent and our pitching is that scary. 2 runs will be enough for King Kenley. If more runs happen, great, but King Kenley will not fail.

Coulda had a sac fly if Ceddane weren’t brain dead Hamilton is on second, not Ceddanne He’s talking about taking a pitch when the runner clearly had 3B stolen without an out yet. Instead, Ceddanne swung and Hamilton had to return to 2B.

I can't believe normal baseball games used to take this long. I don’t care what anyone says. The pitch clock is a blessing. Imagine how long this game would be without it…

Pitch clock does prevent the catcher from helping the ump out there by slowly walking to the mound after the ump gets drilled.

Weird game, long game, interesting game - but....it was a win.

Funky game. Every time I checked the score there was another 3-4 runs on the board.

Big time. I look at it this way: O’s had Burnes on the mound and 17 hits. Who bets on a loss knowing only that? Has to sting.

Allow me to second what the hot mic caught Merloni saying at the end of the mlb.com broadcast:
"Jesus."

After all that, we end the game with a very competent inning in the 9th? This game was weird, but hey, a win's a win. I think we need two wins against Baltimore at least, and we're halfway there already.

That was the baseball equivalent to a 6 hour flight with such heavy turbulence it feels like the airplane is going to be ripped apart in the sky and then the landing is incredibly smooth

I can't believe normal baseball games used to take this long. I thought the Camden Classic with both teams scoring in double figures became a thing of the past when they moved the LF fence out of the city limits!
