Whiplash - 2 games after probably the worst loss of the year (TX), we get one of the best wins of the year.
Baseball is weird.

If the team is allowed to actually spend money next year - as in “more than Lucas Giolito and a new air fryer” - is there any reason not to just bring Kenley back. Like if money is no object

This team deserves so much more
I can say the Baltimore so far has our number but does anyone fear any of these teams in the AL.

Feel like I am watching a Patriots game here. You mean because neither the Patriots or the Red Sox have anyone who can throw the ball?

Criswell gets the win. Just another crazy thing about this game.

Many good things tonight - Duran finding his stroke again, Casas and Criswell back, Devers coming out of his funk, Masa stays red hot, Hamilton with speed and power, Sogard solid defense, Horn and Sims calmed things down, and Kenley slammed the door.

Allow me to second what the hot mic caught Merloni saying at the end of the mlb.com broadcast: "Jesus."

Will Flemming said it felt like it’d be one of those 12-10 nights way back in the bottom of 3rd or top of 4th

Add O'Neil, Slaten, Hendricks, maybe Story at some point, and this roster is compelling.
Priester looked good in Worcester tonight too, and believe soon he can come up and not burn another year of control...
Anyhow, big win tonight.

Yoshida. Don’t even know what to say at this point. Welcome back my friend, we’ve needed you these last few months.

Yoshida is up to a 121 wRC+. Outside of his first 9 games back from injury he's at 140.

I remember that! Eovaldi got shelled in his… second? start with the Sox and they went down 8-3 in the fourth. Memorable because I lost cell service and you don’t usually expect that win expectancy to flip, even if the opponent was really rough that year. A surprise to read the box score the next day. Edit: wow, that Orioles pen had Tanner Scott and Evan Phillips in it, and they got absolutely nothing for them.

So I remember thinking the Red Sox new pitching coach was a miracle worker. That seems like a long time ago!

So now we know. All the Sox have to do to win a game is to score a dozen runs.
So if the Sox score 12 runs every night they should be fine!
Yoshida was awesome. Seeing the Yoshida that for a day last July lead the league in hitting.
Speedsters Duran and Hamilton contributed the long ball.
And the pitching was brutal, as usual.
Luis Garcia has been an ok/decent reliever for years and now he's a cringeworthy joke. They'll keep pitching him. They won't DFA him. But the guy has been a total torch since joining the Sox.
At least Kenley Jansen looked good.

Sweet Jesus, what a game.
Casas with a few nice, no hesitation, defensive moves so apparently the rib doesn't affect his fielding.

Big time. I look at it this way: O’s had Burnes on the mound and 17 hits. Who bets on a loss knowing only that? Has to sting. Worth mentioning that the Os had 25 total bases from those 17 hits plus 6 walks. The Sox got 31 out of their 14 hits and 5 walks. So 36 sacks versus 31. Divide each by three and you're just about there with the score. No problem with this team's offense. On the other hand...
