Sox batters hit lots of warning track or shorter fly balls. Tampa hitters shorten up and put the ball in play, going oppo, etc. I know which approach I like better.

Checking on the out of town scoreboard for tank purposes with the Rays up 5-2, Cardinals are down 1-0 to the Pirates, Reds down 5-2, Blue Jays up 2-0 on the Rangers, Giants up 4-0. If all scores hold, we'll be 4gb back of the Rangers, 3gb of the Pirates, 2.5gb of the Reds, 2gb of the Giants and Blue Jays, 1gb of the Rays and tied still with the Cardinals. We hold the tiebreakers for draft position over the Rangers, Reds, Giants, Blue Jays, Rays, and we lose the tiebreaker against the Pirates and the Cardinals Small update, all other games are the same except that Cardinals took the lead 2-1, meaning if that holds Pirates will be 4gb back of them while we will be a game up on the Cardinals and Rangers up now, so, 3GB of the Blue Jays, 3GB of the Rangers SFG 10-0 BAL [END] TOR 3-7 TEX [Bottom of 4] CIN 6-5 ATL [Top of 9] STL 2-1 PIT [Top of 8] |

Just for the hell of it if season ended today were drafting 14. St Louis is 13 but were both .500 How dare you, Sir! Today Tomorrow begins the 11-1 10-0 run to the third WC.

Pretty remarkable that all the hitters were slumping except Duran and you figured regression to the mean must be coming, and the next thing that happened is Duran went into a slump.

Oh well, gents. It was an interesting 2024 season - but...I think I can her the corpulent lady singing. Thanks for making it as fun as possible.
I will be around until the bitter end. But at this point it is just playing out the string, I fear.

Both the Red Sox and Rays had an xBA of .239 in this game. The Red Sox had 3 actual hits, the Rays had 12.

I’ll always associate 2024 with Jarren Duran, just like 2023 was the Justin Turner season and 2017 the Chris Sale season. |
