Do Cleveland fans know that coming back from 3-1 in the ALCS is indeed possible, or have they suppressed this memory:

Would certainly not bet money on it. I don’t think Cleveland can win 3 in a row, but right now we ain’t worried about that - just win tonight with Bibbee and we’ll deal with the obstacle that is 2 must-win games for a mediocre Guardians team in Yankee Stadium if we get there

They keep letting a red-hot Giancarlo beat them with an ice-cold Jazz Chisolm hitting behind him.

PitchCom on that 3-2 pitch to Stanton - “slider low and away, slider low and away, slider LOW AND AWAY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD”
The pitch - cement mixer down the middle

Think if it's Yankees/Dodgers it's pretty much a tossup who wins.

That was predictable. Soto is pretty damn good. I'd say that Soto trade was rather impactful. I think the Yankees will find a way to sign him.
I hope the Dodgers or Mets dont suck or else we'll be watching a Yankee championship.

If the Yankees win the WS and Henry does not spend this Winter he might need to go into witness protection.

Alright.
I don't know who can be a anti-Mookie fan at this point. The Sox developed him and he left because our poor ownership neglected him when he wanted to re-sign.
Mookie Betts is the deterrent for the Yankees to winning a title.
Screw any Red Sox fans not rooting for our Mookie Betts.

If the Yankees win the WS and Henry does not spend this Winter he might need to go into witness protection. Why get an ace when you have the nostalgia of Fenway Park. I do really hope the Yankees winning the AL forces their hand but I feel the Yankees/Sox thing in the 2000’s was pushed by Larry (RIP). Say what you want about him and his associate, the dentist, but it always seemed like he cared.

This playoffs:
Gleyber Torres .297/.400/.432 8 1B, 7 BB, 2 2B, 1 short porch homer
Soto/Judge/Stanton are always dangerous, but Torres has low-key been spraying the ball and getting on base consistently ahead of them. The big boys are going to get their homers, unfortunately that’s a given. But whoever wins between the Dodgers/Mets needs to limit traffic so those homers are solo shots and not multi-run bombs that killed Cleveland

I am in a full-blown panic. I need a hero to step up and stop the Yankees from with the WS. I can’t endure it.

I was having fun rooting for the Mets but now I can't even do that because the Dodgers seem like the stronger World Series opponent. Yankees success poisons everything.

We got Baby Ortiz and not much else. Henry’s aversion to star players needs to stop or he needs to go. This does not exist outside of your mind. Dont really want to get into a large back and forth go nowhere thing about this but since they landed 2018 difference maker JD Martinez, what top of the market free agent have they landed? I'd say Trevor Story is as close as they've gotten beyond retaining their own free agent to be Raffy Devers, after offering Mookie a home town discount and deciding to trade him rather than offer a top of the market extension. Story was a significant investment but I wouldn't out him in the upper tier and frankly the Sox opted to sign him rather than extend Bogaerts for that money when he was extendable. You may very well disagree with these characterizations and see Story as a top of the market signing - I think we can both agree that Devers' resigning was top of the market. But with their reduced spending in relation to about a dozen other franchises and not reeling in a big fish the past six years I think it's reasonable to conclude that Henry has had an aversion to extremely expensive and long free agent contracts. Maybe the Yankees winning will embarrass ownership enough to the point that they spend top of the market this offseason and are willing to go well above the first line of the luxury tax as it is off putting to me to hear concerns about them topping the luxury tax line. The Sox are hardly a welfare case and theres no reason they cant go 20 or so million above the first line. I'm watching very closely this offseason to see if they're going to dent their biggest asset, their core 4 in AAA in the name of getting that mythical stud starter about to pop, or spend the money on proven in their prime front line starters like Burnes, Snell, or even Fried. Not only am I watching to see if they get top tier talent, I want to see if they use their money to build quality depth and extend some young players. They're past the point of going after marginal improvements.

Alex Verdugo is going to the World Series, and you’re not. When we envisioned Betts vs Verdugo in the World Series a few years ago this isn’t what we had in mind.

Sorry this is off topic but Story holds the 37th largest contract in MLB history and when he signed it it was the 19th. The fact that the Red Sox have gotten basically nothing out of that deal so far is a testament to how money only gets you so far competitively.

That pretty well cements the Verdugo/Betts - Brasier - Enrique World Series.
