They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Tony Gonsolin looking like he's being activated for the Dodgers series.

The Dodgers have gone 33 straight innings without giving up a single run. Insanity.

Dodgers look unstoppable. Tuned to the game just in time to watch Betts do what Betts does, slam one down the line past third to clear the bases. Great player.

Dodgers look unstoppable. Truly a crazy turn after losing Game 2 of the NLDS where they looked completely dead and unmotivated. Tough to see the Mets topping their momentum now even with all the magic they’ve had.

Good way to incentivize a bad bases-empty approach.

You were saying? Looks like magic just took the ball away from momentum in this contest of very dubious metaphors.

2024 Chris: Hey Chris, guess what? Iglesias? He's in the NLCS with the Mets this year. He's starting at second today.
2010 Chris: Oh cool! I love Iggy. Second base though? He's the best defender I've ever seen. They must have an MVP candidate at short?
'24CAH: Yes but he's not really the defender he once was. Had a bunch of shin injuries, now he's just kind of a steady guy. Spent the first 2 months in the minors.
'10CAH: Oh, darn.
'24: Yeah, but he was one of several catalysts for the team this year, along with Grimace.
'10: O-kaaaaay, and how's that?
'24: His latest pop song, OMG, is really good. He performed it after a game once and they have an "OMG" sign they pose with after home runs. He even did a remix with Pitbull.
'10: WHAT??

I seem to recall Chaim was lusting after Vientos a couple years ago He was the Met I was wondering if/hoping they'd get in the Benintendi 3 way deal. Instead they got Freddy Valdez. Meh. Then there was a thought of JD Martinez for Vientos but that never happened and now ironically they're teammates.

This Guardians team is not serious. Think it's going to be a quick series.

It very much pisses me off when the Yankees trade for/sign start players and then, incredibly, these star players (i.e. Juan Soto) perform like star players not just in the regular season but the postseason as well.
It’s a novel approach. And we’ve spent the past 6 years mired in middle class baseball. Alas, perhaps if the chips fall just right and if great Zeus has blessed us and Mercury is in retrograde and maybe, just maybe, the stars align just so that we can hope to snag that 3rd wild card spot. The excitement at Fenway will be palpable.
The postseason is indeed a big crapshoot most of the time, but the Yankees do a hell of a job getting into the dance year after year. Juan Soto doesn’t hurt. And nobody in that stadium tonight is clutching their pearls that they gave up value and control in the form of King, who is very, very good, and prospects.

Bibbee vs Cole tomorrow. This series already feels over but if they find a way to split the games in NY they have a chance I guess

It's still a true fact that the Yankees haven't won a best-of-seven series in 15 years.

it's beyond frustrating having to compare the teams the glorious Sox 2018 had to play in the playoffs against this MFY squad.
Where is the justice ?
