tie game - a non rhythm 3 when you've been cold all night. meanwhile they just ran a sick got-to-have-it play going downhill directly towards the basket that worked perfectly and was a great bucket

The play to take the lead (the Tatum dunk) was so good, and the Tatum iso to end regulation was so predictably bad.

Tillman to the end of the bench? Started the game, didn't do a thing - hasn't been back.

for the life of me ill never understand why tatum doesnt shoot more midrange jumpers - he is so much more efficient from there than from 3

Tillman to the end of the bench? Started the game, didn't do a thing - hasn't been back. He is just such an offensive nonthreat that it’s tough to play him with the starters. They’ll just relentlessly help off him.

One point wins the game, so get an easier shot or a chance for a foul!

Peyton Pritchard. He has become such an asset to this team.

Peyton Pritchard. He has become such an asset to this team. Is he going to average over 15 ppg?

Interesting game from Hauser. Tops on the team with a +16. Didn't have it from 3, but 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals in 35 minutes.

Unexpectedly wild and entertaining and frustrating game - but it's a win.

This game epitomizes Jayson Tatum. Transcendent when focused on defense and getting downhill for buckets/freebies/kickouts. Totally underwhelming when settling for step backs and pull-ups.

If Xavier isn’t playable, then I’m sorry but Mazz needs to unleash some Drew Peterson.

Scheierman (6-13 from 3) and Davison both with 31 pts. for Maine Celtics in loss.

He used to have that in his bag early in his career. While it’s not what we want the norm to be for his shot selection, it isn’t the worst thing for him to have in his back pocket late in close games when good shots are harder to come by.

Was about to say the same thing, especially re: the bold, until I read your post. He had one last night, a turn-around fade-away from the high post in the 4th, that was so nice to see. It does seem to me like he's been reincorporating that part of his game bit-by-bit this year.

some ugly defense being played lately. not worried this early in the season but would like to see some good stretches at least, not getting too many of those either.

I think it’s a big enough pattern that we should be concerned about it. Not panicked or anything, but it’s a clear problem they need to show an interest in addressing.

I think that the regular season is going to have quite a few of these "sleepwalking" games. Learning to just relax and ignore.

Pritchard has been awesome this year, but his bench mate Hauser had been very mediocre with his shooting thus far. I know he can get his shot off really quick, but does he have to rush it even when he is open? His defense and rebounding have been solid, and he seems like his passing and ballhandling has improved a bit, but his shooting has been subpar. They need him hitting 3s at a higher rate than he has been producing. Hopefully he will turn it around.
