Obviously David’s best pitch would have to be followed by a strong contract offer but David is also the best figure to get John Henry on board with said offer. Obviously our best pitch would come from Pedro, and we'd count on Papi to clean up.

He's a Boras client. Do we really think non-financial factors will be relevant? Farm system depth? Please. At some point money doesn't matter. If the Red Sox go $600mm and the Mets go $615mm it's definitely not a slam dunk he'll take the money. I think it comes down to structure. Who is willing to give the opt out in year 4... I think the tax issues involved will be the equalizer for us. We don't even technically have to match Cohen's (or Steinbrenner's) offer for Soto to take home more in his pocket. Just keep the money in the ballpark, and if it turns out he likes our vibes the best, it becomes a slam dunk.

Are we sure these eyeballs are for Soto and not for Crochet? To be honest the eye balls are probably for nothing in particular if I had to guess. He followed them up by saying "nothing imminent. Heard some things that back up what we've already known and got excited. This is definitely not "full throttle". " This place is about ready to erupt no matter what happens at this point which is fun to see though, feel like there hasn't been this type of buzz in a few years.

Looking at Ed's timeline he says the emoji is not Soto related and more up the starting pitching avenue

Lou has a new Twitter Avatar All of Sox fandom is a pressure cooker waiting to explode right now. There is that cynical side of me who grew up a Sox fan before 04, when they seemingly created new ways to break my heart until 04 happened. That's why I am guarding my hope, but with everyone else here posting "hey, look at this shiny thing!" I can't help but be excited dammit.

It's that time of year. Time to give thanks. I hope. Excited to sign Bregman to a $400M deal, get Benintendi back for Aybar, and trade Roman Anthony+ for Alek Manoah. LFG!

Well if he wants a strong rapport with the owner of where ever he signs you can probably stick the Red Sox at the bottom of the list of the rumored teams since Henry has been MIA for years now.

That's where mr. TV Werner and Theo come in, I can see Soto being "friends" with Theo. And don't worry, even Cript Keeper Henry can be "Charming" when it comes to a big investment deal

Completely assumptive, but maybe Theo would be the connection to ownership Soto is looking for seeing he’s being given a stake in FSG?

I hardly see how the last point is a selling point… Look at all these awesome managers we've cultivated while we kept crappy Aaron Boone! Probably not part of a pitch I would have made if I were them no..

Heyman casually inserted that this will be a 15 year deal. I'm thinking his get it done price is 15 years and a nominal amount over Ohtani's 700 with no deferrals.

If he's already throwing in that it will be a 15 year deal we hopefully are approaching the finish line since the length of the deal is obviously a large hurdle to figure out.

We've all been frustrated with the past few years and yes, we're all in a Jerry Mcgwire (Show me the money) mood. It's too early right now to pan the Sox. If we're in January and it looks like it looked last year, fine, tear them a new bunghole. For now, Hope Springs Eternal. If we all look at everything from a pessimistic point of view than no joy can be gained from the offseason...
