Moncada with his 3rd CS already? Yesterday was a pitcher pickoff. Still not good but somewhat of a clarification. The other one was a regular CS at 3B after stealing 2B. Ah ok. I'm not worried lol just thought it was interesting.

Might be a short one for Porcello here.

With the end of spring training games, here is a video I've compiled of all the highlights from the "regular" players for the upcoming season. I figured it would be nice to put them all in one video to avoid MLB's website. Some events are missing just because I wasn't able to get the source video and I cut out some because they were boring. If you want to see the back-to-back homerun swings you can skip to 14:56. Edit: Looks like the MLB blocked my video in some countries due to copyright content

Yeah that sucks. He's an amazing player, had the second best season of any center fielder last year.

I don't know if anyone else is watching right now but this is an amazing game. If they were shooting free throws like normal they'd be up a bunch.

Today's lineup is probably going to be the opening day lineup against Kluber right? Betts Pedroia X Papi Hanley Shaw Holt Swihart JBJ It's not a bad lineup really. One thing about Price is that he usually is a "slow" starter to the season. For his career March and April are by far his worst months (3.84 career ERA), and this happened last year as well.
Over the weekend I also will upload a complete spring training highlight video with all of the clips available from the players expecting significant playing time this season in 1 video if people are interested.

This is starting to get very interesting lol. There's a fangraphs article talking about this and Dave Cameron thinks the most logical places for Rusney are the Padres, Brewers and Phillies.
One other crazy thing: does anyone think Castillo can still play the infield?

Of the teams below them right now, I think the worst matchups for the Cs are the Hawks, Heat and the Pacers. I would try to avoid the Pacers if possible, they always play well against the Celtics and Paul George could win a game by himself. That being said I think they would still win the series, especially with home court. The other teams are just mediocre to be honest.

Yeah this team is really good as currently constructed but that reliable big would be amazing. Thomas is a great fit just because he is amazing in transition and Bradley, Crowder and Smart force so many open floor turnovers.
At this point it's just going to come down to the ping pong balls. The Nets will probably end up with like the 4th worst record, even though the Wolves and Suns are hardcore tanking. Simmons on this team would just be sick. They could play him at the 4 and have him run fast breaks and attack the rim off those dribble hand-offs.

If you're like me and you think MLB's video player is trash, here you go:
I also put an interview on the end.
I'm not sure exactly how the MLB will handle copyright stuff so I might eventually get some strikes and have to take the videos down. Then again, it's just spring training...

I think there were actually 4.1 seconds on the clock but the graphic was messed up or something. There was a replay to see who would get the ball after Turner missed a free throw and the rebound went out of bounds off Lebron's hip and I think they changed the clock then.

Hmm between Conforto, Cespedes and Granderson there's a chance that outfield could end up with like a .240 BA, .320 OBP and like 75 homers lol

Lol I wonder what the record is for the earliest BSOHL reporting. There was another report about Hanley being down like 15 pounds I think.
With both Hanley and Pablo being relative question marks, what do you guys think will happen with Travis Shaw this season? He hit 13 homers last year in a little over 2 months and I really like his swing. I'm not sure he can hold up a 274/331/491 line over a full season but in limited time he could be a valuable bench/platoon/injury backup. So I made a video for him as well as it seems people like them!

So I didn't want to just post this in the Betts thread as it's a little bit off topic for that, but here's the video of all of JBJ's homers last year. He hit a lot off of some really good pitchers and lefties as well.

For the guys above talking about "the eye test" and power numbers I decided to make a couple videos. There's a video for both X and Mookie showing every homer they hit last year. At the end I put just the swings back to back as well. I interpolated the video to 60fps to try to get it smoother than the source video so hopefully they are alright. Not sure how useful this stuff is but I enjoyed learning how to make them, and have a JBJ one rendering now. If people want me to make some other videos I'd be glad to.

His 3PT% last year and college and so far in the NBA are flat out bad. His shot looks good, but considering this sample size he has to be doing somethings slightly wrong. Isaiah Thomas will be an all star I think. Someone on the Celtics need to be and two way players like Bradley never get enough credit. I think RJ is actually hurt right now. There was a report like a week or two ago that he hurt his hip or something. Young is getting more minutes cause RJ and Smart can't play so they're a little thin on wings. Edit: of course once I post this RJ checks into the game lol

This Friday, it's must see TV with The 23-0 Warriors taking on the 12-10 Celtics. Hopefully, Klay's ankle is healed and good to go. You mean the 13-9 Celtics? lol Looking forward to this game

Someone said it before yesterday but the DBacks are this year's Padres. I like Shelby Miller more than most people here apparently but this is the kind of move that they will most likely regret. On the other side, very well done by the Braves.

Lol imagine what would have happened if the trade somehow went through and the Dodgers weren't aware of that. I'm also very surprised that it's taken so long for this to reach the public with the twitter prevalence and all.

The contact with Napoli makes sense if they're looking to deal Hanley.

Yeah I don't see much there as far as young talent goes on the Nets. RH-J could be a really good defender like MKG or Tony Allen or something but he's not going to be a star. The only other decent "young" players on the team are Thad Young and Bojan, who's basically a shooter and not much else. Thad could easily get traded this year to a contender for a back end first rounder.
Basically every team is going to have cap space and it looks like most teams are locking down their good young players. It's going to be hard for Brooklyn to attract FAs with that team to play with when they won't really have the financial advantage either. I do think they could get some mid tier players and get out of the first third of the lottery though after this year or the year after.
Edit: lol others replied while I was typing mine out

wcp3 I was agreeing with you lol, he really did do a good job.
Lol I realize that comment comes off as sarcastic now but I was being serious. He had great coverage all game. There's like 2:20 of evidence in that video after the first play.
