What is with Betts getting in only 1 or 2 swing per at bat this year?

Cora has been on Betts for not being aggressive. When is that going to turn into results?

Betts is not putting up much of a fight on 2 strikes. Betts is thinking about that 200 million dollar pass more daily It's all about next year.

This offense will now click with Benni and Betts getting into a groove.

offense looks awful, including Mookie. Benny just looks completely lost Every team should continue to pitch Mookie on the outside part of the plate. At worst, he'll double to right field (unless it's Yankee Stadium) and at best he'll try to pull the ball into the ground or pop up. Not sure what's up with Beni, Sox Stats pointed out he has only 6 fly balls to right field since July 4th. What more annoying is Betts only gets one swing in an AB.

90% of pitches to Betts is away. He pulls about 3/4 of them.

4 AB, Betts swung the bat 4 times.

Anyone notice Betts is only swinging the bat one time each AB?

I don't think I've seen Betts swung the bat more than once in any PA.

Machado definitely has put up MVP numbers. Unfortunately he lives in a world where Trout and Betts exist. Maybe he'll do better in the NL. Machado had an OPS that was only 22 points higher than Xander's last year. IF Xander has another seasons like that, he's easily worth $200M, when compared to Machado. He's also a great guy who hustles all the time. $200M isn't what it used to be. You aren't signing a young MVP candidate for $200M. Otherwise, Mookie would have been signed by now. You're only looking at last years. Machado has manage around 6WAR yearly over the last 4.

that would be a hard pass. Let somebody sign him for $200M. I expect MVP performances out of a $200M contract, which Xander has never come close to doing. Neither has Manny Machado and he got $300M. Machado definitely has put up MVP numbers. Unfortunately he lives in a world where Trout and Betts exist. Maybe he'll do better in the NL.

Betts + Xander may be 0-15. But who else was hitting? Kinsler lost that game, and completely wiped out Eovaldi for game 5. The Sox were in position to "steal" that but Kinsler threw it instead. Literally.

Betts doesn't foul many off does he? Always a 1 swing ball in play

One thing I want betts to do is foul off pitches. He usually put the ball in play on the first swing.

We play 5-6 innings games with the 5-9 in the order all year. It gets a lot tougher to carry dead weight in a short series. Hopefully Benni and Betts wake up and send the offense sky rocketing.

Sooner or later, JD and Betts can't carry this team all by themselves. Devers, Benni, Bogaerts going to need more consistency. Look at the MFY lineup, they're producing throughout.

If Betts batted 3rd, he still hit in the 1st inning.
