Hey Braves, you like that Duvall homer? Feel free to take him home to Atlanta with you (for a price) Nope, keep Duvall he fits this roster real well. No need to be selling solid ML players. I donât think heâs in the Kiké âneed to get him off the rosterâ sphere but if thereâs a good offer that comes through for him Iâd probably still pull the trigger

All I’m gonna say is this - the only half inning I’ve missed of this game is the one where the Braves went up (had to drive home from the gym)

What they’re doing this month has little to no bearing on what they’ll do 17 months from now in the offseason. in 17 months Roman will be ready!!!! In all seriousness we have a stacked farm. We have so many nasty SS that will be moving around. I can see Mikey Romero in RF. Who knows what will happen in 17 months but speaking about Soto on a daily basis when hes on a team that outbid us on our own star by 100m is just a waste of time. Id rather spend on Yamamoto or an ace to have for years to come with Bello. Just sign both imo

What's with Strider being such a baby You talkin about the reaction after the double? Guarantee that's a pretty tame reaction haha, they just don't normally show it

I’d be working furiously to get Casas, Duran, and Bello extended as quickly as possibly, price is only going up.
If at least two of those guys aren’t extended by the team next season rolls around I’ll be pretty disappointed.

Is Casas… the best hitter on the team right now?

Holy shnikes… these gimmick uniforms STINK. They’re going to keep doing it since people keep buying the jerseys for some reason. I agree they’re horrible looking. They’re also like, what, 20-4 with them on? I personally love them but understand that’s partly because I went to UCLA so the colors are generally the same and the hat is identical, but really it may be partially player-driven at this point as superstitious as some of those guys are.

Dude it’s every team , when we play the MFY they suck thee ass too, do you listen to these guys? I don't know. I think back to Joe Buck telling the story of how Sox fans rode his ass about how he was ball washing the Yankees and then he got approached by Yankees fans who rode his ass about how he was ball washing the Red Sox. I suspect that's how most fanbases feel about announcers who aren't local. I don't worry about it too much. I worry more about how the Sox play. Every fan base thinks the media hates their team, every fan base is wrong (over-generalizing of course, but still)

Good for you I would gladly pay more money to have my annoucers on. You invited your self to answer like I am a dummy. I know the Braves are in first. This isn’t my first game. This isn’t turner sports either. I don’t think anyone is saying you’re dumb but have you ever considered that you, the Red Sox fan may be receiving the information in a biased manner as opposed to the every member of the national media having an agenda against the team you happen to like?

So...say Bastardo dominates again today, is it time for a promotion? Given that he's going to be up for Rule 5 this offseason, I think he certainly warrants look, the problem is both the Portland and Worcester rotations are pretty loaded, especially if Hagenman is going to start.

Harper was a good enough hitter to DH or play first. Story to me is not. If he's not able to play a full 9 at SS yet I don't think he adds much to the team. It does sound like his rehab has gone well enough and no setbacks so hopefully he's ready sooner than later to be the full time SS. You would rather have chang or arroyo or Reyes out there than Story?? Story is the best defender, the best baserunner and has the most power. If he is close you get him in the lineup. The narrative on Story’s defense has gotten pretty wild imo. If his arm is back to healthy he’s good but he’s not better than Chang

Thank you to the SP staff for adding the auto-accent for Kiké's name during his tenure here, not demonizing the guy for not doing it in the tweet or anything but man it just looks so much worse without it lol

Wonder if there is any chance Bloom could send something with Kiké and snake Gavin Lux out of there? He did mention wanting a left hitting middle infielder. Lux hasn't played at all this year and is still on his way back from ACL surgery. Bloom is dealing with Friedman who is perhaps the best GM of the last decade. Hes not giving Bloom Lux or anything of real value other than maybe a lotto ticket. He wasnât saying Kiké for Lux straight up lol

The back end of the Dodgers' FG prospect list is littered with lower minor guys who throw absolute gas, eat some salary and throw in one of them for good measure and I'm heading home happy.

In all seriousness, there will be a lot of joy in seeing him go from this fanbase (myself included - the team needed to move on), but his 2021 season/postseason alone makes him a pretty excellent addition, IMO. Obviously didn't come close to working out this year but I understood re-signing him and I will do my best to separate the sour past few months from everything else and appreciate the run he had when he was borderline untouchable.

This is the second biggest trade of a utilityman between the Red Sox and Dodgers in MLB history (miss you, Nick)

The Korean signing is an IFA, so not super related to the draft discussion. My guess is 6 ranked (Teel, Zanatello, Anderson, Duffy, Campbell, Taylor) with Riemer and Early being quick risers once they actually get into games next year (assuming they shut Early down). If you are discussing how many drafted players get into Top 30, then you need to assess who might drop out and who might come in. That guy is no different than any other guy in the system that the new draftees would "compete" against to be in top 30. The pitchers are all a function of which ones you think are better than the guys from the past couple of years that are already in pro ball. So if you think the news guys are better than Grant Gambrell, who I didn't list, but was a 3rd rounder in 2019 for KC, then they go in. If you think they aren't better than him or Blalock or Isaac Coffey, then they don't go in. But I would note that guys frequently enter high and fall off, only to be replaced a year later with a similar guy who is a year younger who hasn't yet hit his lumps climbing the system. Are they better than L Guerrero, already at Portland? I didn't even include him as a lock. I left of Hamilton in AAA who has gotten the call once. We will have guys in the 30s that could have been at 20 a couple years ago, however the mods choose to allocate the spots. I appreciate their efforts attempting to rank. I am just commenting the group is deep. You said "I think only the top 3 in the draft could make top 30, unless the Korean HS pitcher is worthy", I was just noting that his signing was entirely independent of the draft when you implied otherwise.

I think only the top 3 in the draft could make top 30, unless the Korean HS pitcher is worthy. In prior years maybe more, but Top 8 is likely in some order: Mayer, Raffaela, Bleis, Anthony, W Gonzalez, Perales, Yorke + Teel And next 19 are likely these guys in some order, bucketed by where in system vs a prospect order: E Valdez, B Walter, C Murphy (3) up and down crew, plus Other Upper Minors (7): Abreu, Jordan, Meidroth, Hickey Drohan, Mata, Dobbins Lower Levels (9) Bonaci, Romero, J Garcia, Y Cespedes, + probably Zanetello and Anderson Rodriguez-Cruz, J Monegro, A Bastardo I think you can argue for inclusion of higher up guys who have shown more vs younger guys with maybe more upside to take the last 3 spots. But I think these 27 probably all make the Top 30 cut. It's good to not be able to fit every guy who could make the majors into top 30. The Korean signing is an IFA, so not super related to the draft discussion. My guess is 6 ranked (Teel, Zanatello, Anderson, Duffy, Campbell, Taylor) with Riemer and Early being quick risers once they actually get into games next year (assuming they shut Early down).

Strider could eat us alive, he is insane despite what his okay stats show If those are just “okay” stats, what do good stats look like?

Didn’t really cross my mind that Riemer is going to be out til next year, bummer as he’s a guy I figured would hit the ground running like Meidroth did.

Seems like that's it then. Even with that being the case, a pretty good draft, a lot to be happy about. I'm wondering how people would compare it to last year's. I'd say this year's top three is definitely better than last year's on paper (Teel/Zanatello/Anderson vs. Romero/Anthony/Coffey), but I think the second tier of last year's is probably a little better, propped up by the difference between Brannon and the 4th guy in this class. Ultimately though I think the high end talent is so great and the depth of the class similar enough to where I'd slightly lean this year's, but regardless I'm just excited to have another year of injecting quite a few exciting talents into the system. Riemer (I loved the Meidroth pick, think he's probably pretty similar) and Early (Probably my favorite pick of the draft but I'm biased just based on loving the look I got in person) are among the really good examples of guys with a great combination of track record and upside, which is a minor theme of this class I really appreciate.
