Joe Kelly has seemed to mix up his delivery to the plate the last couple outings. Trying to manufacture some deception?

Not a great Sale performance tonight, but the offense woke up

Chavis and Devers seem to be in lock-step for promotions. If they both keep this up it wouldn't be shocking if they were simultaneous moves

Also, his Med% and Hard% of contact are right in line with last year. He got hurt and his timing was screwed up. He's been better the past few games and will be fine.

It can't be a fun experience to hit against Kimbrel. Wow.

Pedroia's affinity for double plays is something to behold

Do all teams hit into Double Plays like the Red Sox? Might have to watch another team religiously to find out.

Do you all want to burn the bullpen in May? I don't like Farrell either, but come on man. Maybe you want to blame him for pitching Pomeranz and Kendricks back-to-back? I'm not sure that's on him, though. You're right and I'm guilty of being overly critical of the manager. It is a consequence of expectations and hope. It is hard to evaluate such a long season in a single series, and I think a lot of us hoped we would get off to a hot start. Perspective and rationality is needed

Vazquez is a stupid catcher physically gifted defender, but dumb. ADD: Farrell's worst attribute is his allegiance to a starting pitcher. He is always slow to pull the pitcher

The only thing with Xander is I want to see his pull side power come back. He is a fine hitter, but at times last year he was bordering on elite.

With the ability to skip the 5th guy in the coming weeks, I expect we'll only be seeing Kendrick until Price is back.
I'd say his leash is two more starts. If he continues to be bad through 2 more starts I would say he'd be shown the door.

As prospect followers we often fall in love with the guys coming through the system. We read all the scouting reports and start dreaming of what they could be in a future Boston lineup. For all of us that have been reading this site and following the system the Xander Bogaerts progression as a prospect was about as exciting as it could get. He was the dream, a power hitting shortstop. Now a few years into his career he has gone through a few phases of his career, and yet remains a mystery. Knowing him as a prospect, I think more than a few of us have become frustrated with the type of player he has made himself into. Dave Cameron at FanGraphs wrote an article today about his 2017 and the overall player he has become. He too, remains confused about how we got to this point in Xander's (admittedly good) career. www.fangraphs.com/blogs/xander-bogaerts-is-a-very-weird-good-player/What does everyone else see happening with Bogaerts going forward? (Contract, performance, etc.)

I just wanna see guys make some solid contact. This team doesn't strike out much but they could probably stand to strikeout more if they're taking more aggressive swings. Hunt some fastballs and have some fun!
