One example: Gallinari and Pritchard for Jae Crowder. They have all three of Smart, White and Brogdon signed for this year and the next two years so Pritchard is always going to struggle to find minutes. Have to imagine they’re looking at the best player that they can acquire for that package as the last piece of a potential title team. Too much to give up for Jae, at that point I'd rather go extra small and play Pritchard instead lol.

Funnily enough, Kornet came into the league primarily as a stretch five. In 2018-19, he shot 193 three-pointers (4.2 a game; 68% of his shot attempts) at a 36.3% clip. The team he played for? The New York Knicks. Wow what a coincidence. And what a turnaround for Kornet. I'm checking numbers here and it seems he didn't have an inside game as a Knick and now that is in reverse with the season he's having. The more you know! There’s nothing surprising about this, unfortunately. They can’t help but puke all over themselves against the Warriors. It's a bit of a bad matchup, but it's definitely mental at this point. You're Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The league fears you. Andrew Wiggins is not a GODLY defender, just bulldoze that MFer.

White Mamba had a sweet outside stroke, Kornet develops that and the Knicks might max him out.

This franchise has become such a joke we're pining for washed up wife beater Aroldis Chapman.

How do you watch Kornet and say he’s not a legit NBA player? What’s your definition of legit NBA player? For me it’s simply a guy who can be useful and have a role on a good NBA team and Kornet is that. He’s not a guy you want in the lineup every day and Griffin will take any playoff minutes from him; but he’s very useful to get a team thru a long NBA season with his ability and cheap contract. He is what he is and as long as the money keeps fitting that he’s a good piece to a roster. I expressed myself poorly, I'm sorry. Obviously Kornet is productive in his role and that was my point. He's an easy guy to root for because he doesn't LOOK like an NBA player. He found his role and he's good at it. When I said he's not an NBA player, I meant he isn't a big freaking monster like just about everyone is or he isn't crazy gifted and anything. He's tall. And he makes it work. Like I said, he's a folk hero. The game who makes it there out of spite and anger. Which, in contrast to the implication that he's popular because he's white, was also the reason the city still LOVES IT. He also didn't belong. But he got there. And he became a superstar. Guys like that are awesome.

It’s Boston. Of course the tall gangly white guy is going to be a big hit. The short white guy, too. Fast PP is a legit NBA player and anyone who isn't a complete casual can tell you that Kornet really isn't. They're completely different aside from being goofy white dudes. Celebrating Kornet having a good game is rooting for the folk hero, the one who doesn't have a shot being there by complete chance. The working class hero. One of us.

Not to be nit picky bc i get your overall point but I can’t get on board with calling someone who sucks at scoring a great all around player. Oh absolutely, I get you, his game is terribly flawed despite the things he's really good at. But as I was watching the game, I thought he played well. He was active, not like a JAG you can clearly see that doesn't belong. But zero points? It's unreal how someone with that skillset gets a donut, not even a putback? Such a puzzling player. I think this word is overused to the point of being meaningless, but the only explanation I come up with is that dude is SOFT.

Love to see the team pick up Tatum when he clearly didn't have it. Big time team win, which was key earlier in the season when they were going supernova. Yeah Tatum and Brown are superstars, but how about some LUKE F*CKING KORNET playing like a super saiyan out of nowhere lol

Also, sorry for the double post but it's unrelated to the Celtics, I was a huge Ben Simmons fan. I still think he plays excellent defense and he's a great all around player. But when you're making that kind of money, you can NOT post ZERO points in a game like this, I'm sorry. No matter how much we overthink this, ZERO points is uncanny.

Don maybe I wasn't clear, yet I thought it was. Saying only QB you bring in is Tom Brady or a developmental late round practice squad guy. Mayfield was mentioned a few posts before and I really like him, yet I'm passing. Why? Because if you bring in Mayfield it's to replace Mac Jones or compete for starter job. I don't want that drama, Zappe is a fine backup if everything blows up. Mayfield is as good or better than Jones right now, yet I'll bank on Mac Jones upside. He was rather bad at times, yet most young QBs have to struggle to get better. Nevermind Mayfield might have more of an attitude and confidence issue than Mac Jones. Yet it's not crazy either, Bill loved Mayfield at draft time. He has a bunch of talent. Yet agree we have bigger needs and again I don’t want drama. I can take losing and bad football, I can't take anymore drama. Oh got you now, yeah I misunderstood what you meant. I'm also a Mac Jones believer!

If you bring in a QB it should only be Tom Brady, it's a shame Mac Jones didn't get a season to learn under him. I like Mayfield, yet that will just create more problems. You have Zappe. Maybe some low level dual threat guy to develop over a few years, practice squad type guy. Hoyer needs to go. Mayfield? As in Baker Mayfield? Listen, I get not liking Mac, but giving up on him for guys like Zappe and Baker Mayfield is just insanity. Unless you mean as a backup to Mac which yeah I guess... But that shouldn't be the top priority, top priority should be getting Mac an elite target.

GodTEMN that wasn't always pretty, I think we're past the point we'll only see them giving any significant sh*t in the playoffs. Until then, wcp should be in PRIME form.

Don’t worry. I’m not saying it will be the Sox. It won’t be. I don't want it to be the Yankees either, Bauer is an asshole but dude can BALL.

Last night's game was thoroughly enjoyable (a bright spot in my day - got COVID diagnosis on Monday, taking Paxlovid - feeling really tired, kind of like a bad cold - the metallic/bitter taste of the medicine is the only thing I can taste!) - the ball movement was back, the lock down D was back, the swagger was back - the J's and Marcus looked like they were having fun, Brogdon and White totally effective, Grant involved. Good reminder to not sweat all the small ups and downs in the regular season - this team is built for the playoffs, and winning it all. Thoughts and prayers my bro, need you good and ready for the rest of the season. I'm feeling pretty good about this team!

SOMEONE is going to get Trevor Bauer for minimum salary this season. He’s a POS, but he’s also paid his dues and should have a chance to resume his career. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Yankees take him on. Bauer will do a sullen press conference during ST where he says “sorry” a bunch of times. Then everyone will forget about it and move on. That was the playbook they used on Aroldis Chapman(and German). Bauer is too good to be unsigned(especially given the money involved). Whoever signs him is getting a top 5 pitcher in all of MLB. It’s worth the short-term PR mess to have that guy in October when nobody even remembers. No my man. Just no. There are some places we do not go.

Maybe, MAYBE the Thunder game flipped a switch and they remember now they have to play defense and not just outscore everyone? They won every quarter, so this was about intensity. Hope they continue to play hard D.

I am increasingly of the view that Mac Jones is just a bad QB. I don't think so, I still believe in him. I think he is Good Enough™.

You'd have to think if they want him, Brady is going to the 49ers. That defense, those weapons, it's perfectly set up for Brady. 49ers are cursed, that franchise ain't ever having a healthy season again.
