I can't see how the price on Jakob wouldn't be too high for a backup center, but if Stevens gets him for a reasonable deal then he should get a statue at the Garden.

I didn't like Jones getting pulled. I know this could be a learning experience for him, but dude he threw like 6 passes lol. He has more of a track record and pedigree than Zappe, feels like a case where everyone is getting carried away by a grass is greener scenario. The downside of wasting a year of Jones and Zappe being not very good is just too much for me to grasp what the fuck they're doing right now.

My take away from this game is I hope Brogdon can stay healthy. He gives a real 3rd option. In todays NBA you need scoring depth and that means usually means guys who can create their own offense (or be a lights out shooter). The Celtics haven’t had that - they’ve only had guys who can get hot (Horford, Smart, Grant, even White), which is great and all, but having someone who can actually be consistent helps a great great deal. Especially, if that guy will come off the bench. Even better he’s got size and can play defense and create for others too. That’s going to be so important. Brad knocked that trade out of the park. This roster is crazy deep if Vonleh plays like he did last night. |

Is he really worse this year and a bullet dodged, or is it truly the Patriots system maximizing value on everyone? I always think this is why it’s so hard for us to resign our players - they want to be paid for the production they provide the Pats and we don’t want to give credit for what’s above that baseline. How many have met expectations after leaving us? It can’t be a long list, I’ll start it with Chandler Jones. I will start with people saying Bill should be fired lol. |

Honest question do people remember the Brady early years or just 2007 and later? The guy with no 30 TDs and only one season over 4,000 yards. That offense was horrible for years, it was all about D, running and Bill making adjustments. The GOAT took years to become the GOAT, there was a lot of ugly close wins before 2007. I do agree it's a shame we didn't get a top WR, making things easier on Mac Jones. I just don't get the negativity. You have to talk yourself into a good young QB, a good running attack and a good defense? That's what started the Patriots run 20 years ago. I look forward to next week, the Ravens D has been destroyed for two weeks. After two good defensive teams we get to see what this offense can do against a bad one. Mac Jones just doesn't have the arm to be anything like Brady. Brady wasn't Manning either, but he wasn't too shabby. I love Mac Jones, he's a GAMER and he's incredibly smart. But his physical limitations are very obvious and while that doesn't mean he has reached his ceiling, he's at a significant disadvantage against guys like Mahomes and Allen. I think the Pats can win with him though, I just don't think we should pin him as ELITE just yet and frankly I'm not sure we ever will. |

Let's say theoretically they win 5 games next year, is his job still safe? Assuming Mac isn't hurt or something catastrophic had happened. Why should we ever assume they will win 5 games? And even if it all breaks wrong, why should we assume it would happen again? The Hoodie has set an UNPRECEDENTED run of excellence in the NFL, his job is very safe. |
