I don't get it. It seems that every team the Red Sox face has pitchers, multiple pitchers, who throw 98,99 even 100. Not one of the Sox pitchers comes close to that on a regular basis. Most of the minor leaguers don't, either. How did that happen?

What happened to Pedroia? There is no information on Gameday other than he left the game. While turning a DP, he got smacked in the face by the runner sliding from 1st with an errant right elbow. Remy & Orsillo thought it might have been intentional, or at least odd enough an occurrence to be questioned. One poster here agreed with them, but I believe it was 100% accidental. Anyway, the left side of Dustin's face was pretty red and he clearly had some cobwebs so they pulled him.

Is this the second time the Sox have been 1-hit this month with WMB having the only hit? That would be harder to believe than actually being no-hit twice in one month.

Pete Abraham ?@peteabe 48m
Webster has a 7.58 ERA in 15 MLB games. The “he’s got great stuff” thing is losing meaning.

Still hoping I was wrong with my assessment of Webster going back to last year.
Still wishing Cherrington had traded him then to any GM who believed all the "ace just waiting to put it all together hype."
Also still wondering if Cherrington is the only GM who believes Webster will be anything more than a back ends starter or pen arm.

Most of the minor leaguers don't, either. How did that happen? Well, De La Rosa routinely hits 98 in his starts but that fastball is pretty flat. The rest of our minor league guys' velo has been slowed down by hype as thick as hot tar.

Yeah for how hard he throws RDLR gets an abysmal amount of swings and misses. Hopefully he can correct that because if he did he could be a stud.

Did most of the roster clear waivers? I wonder if Ben has anything up his sleeve. They have about 6 contracts up next year ,including the ones who has options attached to them. Next year can be another fluid year for the roster.

So this is the second time in the last couple of weeks that WMB has had the one hit in a one-hitter.
Baseball is hilarious.

With Alex Wilsons recent performance, is Alex in play to make the team next year?

With Alex Wilsons recent performance, is Alex in play to make the team next year? Why wouldn't he be... because of all the other relievers we already have under contract? I don't understand the question.

Wouldn't this be a time to get a little look at Betts at his natural 2B position? Also, if the Sox had ANY inclination to use him as a trade chip, it wouldn't hurt to showcase him at his natural position for other organizations.

Betts has worked the count 3-2 in each of his 3 at bats today, this results in a RBI single. Mookie has such a great command of the plate. Sox lead 2-0

Kiermaier reminds me of Ellsbury in the sense that he's forced to leap and dive for balls to make up for the s****y routes he takes.

Bogaerts with a 1 out double, maybe the DL stint has helped? 2 hits off of Alex Cobb is impressive.

Betts has the 4th highest OPS,.742, in the lineup, behind Ortiz, Napoli and Cespedes.

All the "Trade/Cut Buchholz" folks seem to have gone on hiatus during these last few games. Or have y'all joined us who still believe he can be a solid #2 starter when healthy?

And I don't believe that he is in their trading-away plans.
