That was a line drive bomb by Shaw off Miller. No beard, not the same. If Bianchi makes anything near a half way decent throw, it's still 1-0 Sox.

Call me crazy but Shaw's swing reminds me a liiiiiiiitle bit of Adrian Gonzalez.

Kelly's infield defense let him down. Yankee 2nd baseman having a difficult day, lots of screamers in his direction. Ellsbury looking good. Nice piece of hitting by Shaw, opposite field double to go with the HR.

Mookie > Nomar for my excitement about a young Red Sox player. Definitely for me ... I'd actually put Nomar third after Mookie and Bogaerts. Maybe tied for third with Pedroia; I was Pedey's #1 fan as a prospect, irrationally so.

This will not be a popular opinion, but I'm kind of rooting for ARod. Yeah, he almost certainly is a cheater and a generally unpleasant human being, but he more than did his time, and the way the Yankees organization is treating him is a little disgraceful. If they don't want him around, just release him, but all these attempts to try to get him to, what, retire? It just seems super juvenile.

I won't really root for anything but a circus in NY, which is kind of what it is. I can't imagine how annoyed I'd be as a Yankee fan at this point. It's like it's time for them to pay back the devil that they sold their souls to.

I don't like him, but I dislike the self-righteous moralizers who feel the need to condemn him far, far more. Anything that results in more pearl clutching is cool with me. It's also easier because even with A-Rod playing pretty well I see the Yankees as like an 83-win team.

Escobar looked decent, first 2 batters were lefties though.
Watch Refsnyder, very poor defensive second baseman. Heathcott in LF is the player that sucker-punched Vazquez in Greenville.

All of this seems like karma to me.

Morosi just picked the Orioles to win the East now that Stroman is down. He's picking the Mariners to win the league.
Cecchini wants to be a Phillie.

I was totally surprised by the satisfaction I got seeing him hit a home run. I hadn't actually realized that the Yankees had made me choose sides in this, but lo and behold they did, and I'm hoping A-Rod sticks it to them for the next three years. I can't say that I like ARod in any way, but I despise the self-righteous nonsense everyone spews about his PED use, and the Yankees are getting even more loathsome than ever, so ... bully for him.

Chris Martin in to pitch.
At least Morosi was pretty diplomatic when he said no way betts or Swihart were going anyplace.
