I'm glad JBJ was in RF right then. SSS of course.

JBJ is almost a better baseball player than Hanley Ramirez!

That is automatically a DRS right? I'm not sure how those are counted.

i've learned alot on this website...and I have learned enough to know that Eduardo's outing was actually very good and his xFIP is low because he struck out 5, walked none, and the runs were a factor of irregular BABIP. Now, furthermore, it was probably unnecessary to pull him after only 67 pitches, because none of his perfomance for those 67 pitches tells us anything about the next 30 or so pitches. Alternatively, he will be on an innings count this year, so in this case pulling him may actually be beneficial. I feel like I can now join the ranks of the mathematically enlightened. Yes, he pitched a masterpiece today.

That is automatically a DRS right? I'm not sure how those are counted. Depends on how often a runner is thrown out in that scenario. The run value is probably greater than one, as the difference between 1 run and 2 outs and 0 runs and inning over is more than the 1 run. So let's say the run value is 1.5 runs, and the out is made 10% of the time among all fielders, he would get 1.5*.9 = 1.35 runs saved.

He's been prefered to Dalier Hinojosa who's getting passed out by another reliever on the depth chart: Those 4 millions bonus BC gave him look an another bad investment by the Sox GM.

The $4M was a bonus on a minor league contract. Doesn't count against the CBT or anything, so it's really not a big deal. Also, the fact that Aro is good does not therefore mean Hinojosa is bad. Hinojosa has things to work on and the Sox had the spare roster spot to give Aro, who's been dealing, a look.

Bogaerts is the best player on this team, hands down. Or Mookie. Very encouraging how these two are progressing. Also says something about the rest of the team.

Bogaerts is the best player on this team, hands down. Or Mookie. Very encouraging how these two are progressing. Also says something about the rest of the team. Not that much if you mean that they set the bar low, because they don't. Going by FanGraphs, Bogaerts was leading all AL shortstops in WAR, before today. I don't think he's that good a gauge at this point. Betts is fourth at SS as is Pedroia at 2B. Holt would probably rank pretty high, if he had a regular position. I agree, if some of the others were performing at that level, it would be a much better team, but the young players have set the bar pretty high. I'm also satisfied with Swihart's progress at this point. He's coming along after the surprise call-up. And damn, it was great to see Bradley nail the guy at home plate, just a rocket that never touched the ground. Time to discipline those impudent base runners. He even got two hits. If he could have showed some of that during the earlier call-up, and if Vazquez hadn't gotten hurt... if, if, if. It all bodes well for the team going forward, as painful as the record might be.

Swihart has been looking much more comfortable in the batters box for the last three weeks or so.
I do not think he had changed his approach, it's just that he is squaring up some good pitches he can handle and laying off some of the junk.
I am extremely pleased to see his progress, I am sure he will have ups and downs through out the rest of this year, but it looks like he is setting himself up for a decent 2016.

Yeah, he looks as if he's starting to figure it out. ML pitchers are where they are for a reason, after all. They throw harder, and the breaking pitches are much better. Everything comes at you faster, and with a lot more deception. I agree, he look more comfortable, and it appears to me that it's because he's getting his timing down and there's better pitch recognition. The improvement has been slow but steady.
