With the off-day tomorrow and a rested bullpen, you'd think they'd call it a day for Porcello and try to use the mid/low-leverage guys in their bullpen to try and get through two innings before Uehara and Kimbrel.

I overreact in all the game threads. That's just how I am. You don't have to like it. In fact, there is a simple solution that I tell people all the time, there is an ignore feature on the forum. Use it. Instead, when you make a snarky comment on a reasonable observation and get called out on it (not even by me), don't get all butt hurt. I'm not hurt. Sounds like you are. You are on ignore btw, I just keep clicking 'show post'. That is my weakness. Gutless argument.

And two more streaks continue in the 5th inning!
22 straight games with a HR as Ortiz keeps his pace for about 40 homers.
27 straight games for JBJ.
And I'd love to see another triple for Big Papi - wouldn't that be cool to see him hit for the cycle?
At this point I wouldn't bet against Big Papi for anything!

What does that mean? Does he say that JBJ strikes out too much? He thinks that JBJ has contact issues that will catch up with him and we will end up with a so-so player. He clearly is a hater! Oh, I didn't know that. Or didn't even think that it mattered since everyone's GOD - Mike Trout averages about a K per game and has been in the top 5 last 2 seasons.

Swihart should split time with Vazquez when Holt returns from the DL.
Better yet, he should split time with both players.

Big Papi has a real chance at breaking most of the over 40 records for hitters. Really like to see him pass Darrel Evans with 34 HR at 40.

Props to Rick for gutting this one out. It would be easy to say aw shucks not my day and hang it on the bullpen.

Leaving so many runs on the board today.... Look at it another way -- The Sox are trying to blow it open and some statistically good pitching for Cleveland is working hard to try to stifle it -- and at 4 runs over 5 innings, it's sort of a standoff. By the way, the other day I commented that I thought it was interesting that the Sox were expanding Swihart's resume specifically in LF and that I wouldn't be surprised if he was brought up to be the starting LF down the stretch. I didn't expect to be 3 months off. Maybe they want to see what he might do before they decide whether or not any July moves should involve a LF?

Since when did cautious optimism become being a "hater" though? Given his track record, looking at JBJ as a true talent .780 bat or so isn't some kind of personal vendetta. Especially with his defensive chops taken into account - that's a damn good center fielder.

I'll take Ross over Barnes even vs RHH.

But there's a lot of people who post on here who genuinely believe it. Thinking JBJ will regress isn't hating on the guy. It's just having the audacity to guess that he's not actually the MVP of baseball.

Why does JF continue to use Barnes as his #4 reliever when he has the weakest results of anyone out there?
Why was Tazawa pitching yesterday with LI's of .54 and .02, and Ross the day before with .32, and now Barnes is his man with 1.07?
It's maddening.
