Intentionally walk Ortiz and it doesn't get any easier for you.

He out pitched the guy that some here want to sell the farm system to get. To be fair, he wasn't facing the best offense in baseball. Bravo Debbie Downer.

If I were scouting Shaw, I would find myself writing "slider speed bat" But he's been great all year

Man Porcello looks like crap. He can't finish anyone. Nice outing by Porcello.

Man Porcello looks like crap. He can't finish anyone. Nice outing by Porcello. I think you mean, nice result. It was a pretty ugly outing though. Porcello stuggled with control pretty much all day and struggled to finish against numerous batters. But since we are quoting posts hours later: You can tell Porcello doesn't have the sharp stuff he had in April. Be nice to see him find ways to get results without lights out stuff. That's when we know he's turned a corner. I am very happy. Worked out the way I hoped.

Shaw has missed a couple very hitting pitches today. This feels like one of those games where much of the offense is on its game, a few aren't, and Cleveland pitching is desperately trying to hang in the game by working around the lineup to get to the few guys it feels confident to be able to get out. Shaw may be going into a dry patch, but no one expected him to be a .325 hitter, anyway. Heck, if he can hit .270, show some 20 HR power, and get a share of walks, that's pretty much good enough.

The ignore button is not very effective when the ignored poster keep getting quoted That's the advantage of being an intermittent poster -- which I see myself being at this point. I'm not around consistently enough to get vexed by someone. Whatever this poster has done to irritate others, his comment about Shaw appears accurate; he's missed a few pitches well toward center zone today. It's sometimes one of the primary indicators that a hitter is going into a cool period, when they start missing or fouling off the juicy ones.

It's sometimes one of the primary indicators that a hitter is going into a cool period, when they start missing or fouling off the juicy ones. It's a little early for that considering he just hit two doubles yesterday. And they were to the opposite field which is one of those things that batters start forgetting to do when they're about to go into a slump.

The ignore button is not very effective when the ignored poster keep getting quoted I just don't get it. Ignore or respond. Seems like a ego trip to tell others they are on ignore.

I think you mean, nice result. It was a pretty ugly outing though. Porcello stuggled with control pretty much all day and struggled to finish against numerous batters. ... No,I meant what I said. 5Ks, 1BB, 5 2/3 innings and 5 hits. One bad inning, that was it. The ugly is in your eyes, thanks.

He struggled to locate all day, he hit 2 batters. He gave up numerous hits and a walk to guys after he got to 2 out/2 strike situations. It wasn't a very good outing. It was a good result though.

Game of bounces.
The amazing part is that you know that was exactly what he was trying to do. It didn't just happen.

Almost had that triple. When it landed I thought for sure he had a triple. It took a weird ricochet off the wall to the right - or else he would have had that triple! So close.
Only Big Papi can leave you disappointed with a double. He's ridiculous.
