Any guess on who the Sox take here Amfox? Probably someone not on the list. I like Quinn (big power, some swing-and-miss). Jesus Luzardo would be a swing-for-the-fences pick.

Callis just noted Chatham was the best college SS in an extremely weak SS draft.

Looks like there is some issue with the computer/drafting system with a team or MLB. Long timeout before Sox pick and Seattle's pick not imput to draftracker.

I wish they would just post "union break" or "smoke break" if they're gone freeze up.

#RedSox doing superb work. Love that Shaun Anderson pick. 91-93 starter last summer, 93-96 in the pen with a plus SL. Big physical frame

We should sign him below slot. This may free up a 100k-200k. I like the pick.

From MLB:
On a very deep University of Florida staff, Anderson has carved out a niche as a very effective college closer. But the right-hander might have the stuff to start and a team taking him in the opening few rounds might give him every chance to do so. Out of the bullpen, Anderson is up to 95 mph with his fastball. But he has a four-pitch mix that could work out of a rotation. In back of that fastball, Anderson throws a hard curve/slider hybrid in the low 81-83 mph range, a cutter that sits around 86-88 mph and a low-80s changeup. He tends to be around the plate. Anderson did give some a glimpse of what he looks like as a starter in the Cape Cod League last summer. Gators starters like A.J. Puk and Logan Shore might go ahead of Anderson, but his potential in a rotation could see him come off the board not long after.

Ranked 140 on MLB.com.

Very effective college closer with a chance to be a starter. I like this pick assuming Groome signs.

4 pitches, started in Cape Cod league, closer for Florida (couldn't break rotation) Can't really hold that against him. Looks like he might get a serious look to put a fresh arm in the bigs. He's no Burdi but he's a mature kid from a big program.

Excerpted from BA:
On most college pitching staffs, a pitcher like Anderson would be the centerpiece; he's a strong, well-built righthander with command and a plus fastball. At Florida, however, Anderson is just one of the guys, and he's worked almost exclusively out of the bullpen for the Gators. Last summer in the Cape Cod League, Anderson sat more in the low 90s, but showed potential with his changeup and slider. This spring, all of Anderson's stuff is better. He has a 93-95 mph fastball that can bump 96, and he's shown the ability to command the pitch. He throws a hard slider at 84-88 with deep 11-to-5 break; it projects as an above-average pitch. Anderson's performance has been elite this season.
At FL this year (FWIW): 43 IP, 1.05 ERA, 56 K, 6 BB

Could fill a need for the big club this season, a sixth or seventh inning guy.

FP says he has a plus SL, MLB says 45. Bit of a gap in opinion, I'd say.
EDIT: Present (MLB) vs Projected (FP, BA) ??
