Luzardo to the Nationals. It worked with Giolito, so why not take the guy with recent Tommy John

Could fill a need for the big club this season, a sixth or seventh inning guy. I'd rather not do that if he might be able to start.

Didn't we pick a Florida closer just a few years ago? If by a few years ago, you mean last year, then yes. BOS has chosen a Florida reliever in four of the last five drafts (Anderson, Poyner, Harris, Maddox/Larson). It's baseball's version of Rutgers defense.

I also think the last time we took a college RP and rushed him up to the majors that year, it fudged up royally.

JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 12m12 minutes ago Concerns for Shaun Anderson starting revolve around delivery. Lands hard at his finish. But had scout say 80% chance he starts.

I wonder if we draft another upside guy in case we do not sign Groome. Do we get draft compensation next year if we do not sign one of our first rounders still. I'd much rather have Groome, than the 13th pick next year however.

I'd much rather have Groome, than the 13th pick next year however. They will draft upside picks after round 10, in case Groome doesn't sign. If Groome, Chatham or Anderson don't sign, BOS gets draft comp next year (I expect all three to sign).

Didn't know about the others but that's funny.

Not signing Groome would stink. Losing $3.2Mn from our draft pool (3.35 if you include overage) would be devastating.

Is Anderson considered to be an "under slot" pick?

Stoneman Douglas HS just produced 2 players within 9 picks. I like quirky things.
