Got out of it.
Need 4 more runs now just to be safe.

Close it out and get the Twins out of town. Not the best of weekends for the bullpen.

I'm so glad we won, but that was not a fun game.

Zieger is kind of a bad***. Love guys who work quickly and make guys look silly with less-than-elite raw stuff.

Hopefully we can get another BP guy like Zeigler for the same price.
We legit stole him from Arizona

Yep, good relievers are good. And we have some good relievers, though some of them are injured right now. Once Koji and Kimbrel get back I think our BP will be just fine.
The acquisition of Ziegler was huge though, and he proved his worth today. When everyone is healthy we have 3 guys who could close games if needed.

Don't count on seeing Koji again. JF said he "hopes" he pitches again this year. It doesn't sound like a sure thing. I think DDom will trade for another BP arm.

A prospect is fun to watch, but trading him for a sure thing in the Majors is never a losing deal.

to bad we couldn't swing a 3 way trade for Chapman. Him and Kimbrel and Ziegler. That bullpen would be playoff gold

I didn't realize that Koji's return this season was in doubt.
Even without him we have Taz and Ziegler setting up Kimbrel. Barnes and Ross look to be good middle inning/match-up guys. Maybe another lefty for the pen could be used but I don't see any move for one being a major one in terms of what we have to give up.

We did better with Lovullo last year and Cleveland just beat the best team in NBA history record wise after being down 3-1 in the finals with a midseason coaching change. We did better because the young talent started playing better. Also, come on dude, Cleveland is a real poor comparison because the Warriors were 5 minutes of decent non-choking basketball and/or a hit in the nuts away from winning that easily. That's not a winning model. It wasn't meant as a serious response really, but I don't think Farrell is making or even breaking our season at the end of the day. Managers get too much credit/flak. Is ours an idiot? Sure. But could our players have made him look like less of one? Yes

Taz pitched well, giving up a run on a seeing eye single. I can see why Farrell held him out of the Saturday game. Paid off. Also liked his prompt action on Hembree, wasting no time in sending him to Pawtucket after his awful game on Saturday.
Kimbrell is feeling great and is shooting for the three week rather than three to six week return.
Disappointed with Barnes, after his stellar 3 inning job on Thursday. Farrell rested him, but he failed to deliver. Want to see more consistency. He still has hopes of returning to the rotation and is developing a third pitch.
