Agreed on reporters. Whoever once said Boston has a penchant for eating its own was right. The fact that a player makes big bucks shouldn't give carte blanche...and there are consequences for crossing the line. If Price leaves some will say he is ungrateful or too thin-skinned or soft. But I wouldn't blame him if his limits were violated. One thing I've never seen - what unfair or over-the-line reporting has there been on Price since he signed? I'm sure there's hot-takey stuff on the radio, but has anything been printed that would reasonably draw his ire? I note that he went after Drellich last night, whose tone has been... different... since he started doing TV. My assumption is that he said something on CSN that Price didn't like, because Drellich's tweets about Price not talking to media anymore were completely neutral and factual, and I'm not sure how those could've drawn Price's ire if he were being reasonable. To me, it's sports talk radio nonsense and Twitter that are getting to him, but I'm wondering if I've missed anything. Perhaps I conflated a bit here. I have always thought that a segment of Boston sports writers have been more interested in "the story", heaven forbid aggrandizing at the expense of the individual, ...but then I go back to Ted Williams. Price apparently feels that he has been disrespected by others outside the organization proper. I take that to include some Boston writers some of whom have a long-standing rep in that regard. Price does not seem a bad guy so I will accept that his feelings and beliefs have sound foundation.

If he pitches well enough to opt out in 2019, I'd consider that a win/win for the Sox. I believe his opt out is after 2018 season, if he decides to exercise it.

Your point about radio and Twitter, if true, does show some immaturity. The fact that he requested a private meeting with Drellich says to me that it is more personal. Who knows, maybe he heard something 3rd party and called him out on it.

This home plate umpire needs a dog and a white cane.

This home plate umpire needs a dog and a white cane. Price struck out Castro on strike 6 if he got a Yankee pitcher's strike zone. Also, the Yankees know when they're getting their strike zones when they don't swing until 2 strikes. It's so obvious that pitchers need to see when they're doing it just to throw the ball down the middle.

Pablo just hit a foul ball that had to be no more than an inch off the ground.

For a guy on the edge Sandoval doesn't give a rip about the strike zone. I don't know why any pitcher would throw him astrike as it is.

If Price can't put these guys away, I fear the worst. No one can when they're getting squeezed. Yankees just leave the bat on their shoulder knowing that every single close pitch will be a ball.

The guy Price struck out just scored on a single by Gardner. That run is on the umpire.

2 77 mph EV singles after a walk that should have been a strikeout.
Also, Mookie had an 85% chance of catching that first single.
This game ain't staying on long.

First pitch to Vazquez called a strike, not called a strike for Price about 5 times already. The Yankees WL record makes sense now.
I'm either insane in my hatred for the Yankees or this is really happening.

With the Yankees and O's lineup, it feels like they can drive one out of the park at any time. The Sox not so much.
