The Yankees already managed to do something the Red Sox couldn't do - keep Houston off the scoreboard in the 1st inning. The Astros really need to win this game.

That throw by Gonzalez to get Bird reminded me of that Moreland send and it actually got me laughing really hard for a sec.

Just wanted to point out that following the Yankees/Astros game tonight on FS1, they will be showing Pearl Jam "Let's Play Two", which is a documentary/concert movie on their two performances at Wrigley Field last year. I'll be watching for sure and buying the Blu-Ray when it's out. pearljam.com/news/lets-play-two-on-fox-sports-1vMan, just another reason to like you jimed14>LOL>I'm a BIG Pearl Jam fan, and of course the Sox. I didn't watch it last night. I'll wait for the Blu-Ray to arrive at my house. Will the NATS EVER win a Series? I HOPE we get a Cubs-Astros WS. Don't like the Dodgers, but it does suck that Corey Seager is out of the NLCS.

The Fox announcers keep talking about how Pedro mentored Luis Severino and contributed greatly to his success. I'm the biggest Pedro fanboby, but he works for the RS and should not be helping a guy who's going to pitch against us a few times a year and who plays for the rival, no less.

I'll take it, but that is a cheap HR. This stadium and the NYY stadiums are 2 of the biggest jokes in baseball. Correa HR ONLY went 344 FEET.

He owes no loyalties to the Sox outside of the sidework he does for them occasionally.

Pedro is in good company - Ted Williams used to give the Yankees batting tips as well. Needless to say, the Yankees players admired and loved Ted Williams.

Why did Judge not throw with a little urgency? I'd be pissed if I were a Yankee fan and they lost like that.
What an amazing start by Verlander. Yankees are toast.

As a Sox fan, all I can say is that I'm loving the way Judge is playing this post-season. The whole country is seeing his brutal flaws and game all on display.

It will be a little embarrassing if Judge wins the MVP over Altuve if you've watched the playoffs to this point. Not that it is a post season related award my any means but the recency bias would make it look the a poor choice.

BUT, what i want to know is, why wasn't he off on that 3-2 pitch? How about that LAZY throw by Judge?>WOW!!> 3B coach probably read that weak throw, and that's why he sent Altuve.

Great analysis on MLB Network afterwards about how precise the relay from Reddick to Correa to Bregman had to be to nail Gardner at 3rd. Reddick picked the ball up barehanded with his feet positioned perfectly to make the throw. He knew exactly where Correa would be. A slight imperfection in Reddick's fieleding of the ball and throw and Gardner (easily the most hateable MFY for me) would have beat the play.

You'd be less Ok with it if Severino grew up up in Switzerland? We are all fans of BB and none of us want to see the very best of every player we see. I do not want to see Aaron Judge hit 52 HRs again next year? Do you? He owes the Sox no loyalty? He's listed as Special Assistant to the President of Baseball Operations. That means the organization pays him money to share knowledge and advice that can help the Boston Red Sox beat its competition. We can respectfully disagree, but I don't like it. But like all of us do when a family member screws up, I still love Pedro.

He owes no loyalties to the Sox outside of the sidework he does for them occasionally. What does country of origin have to do with the propriety of it? Where your from is huge in small countries like the Dominican Republic. They celebrate their famous players like rock stars. Any player that has country pride will do anything to share their knowledge with one of their own, and I'm sure Pedro considers Severino one of his own despite "being a Yankee." Pedro can have any title the Sox give him. It really doesn't matter. He shows up in spring training and maybe every now and again whenever he has time. The Red Sox are more or less working for Pedro because of his stature and rightfully so, not the other way around. Pedro can literally do whatever the heck he wants in the middle of a season, post-season, and especially off-season (that was when Pedro helped Severino last year). I really have no problem with Pedro or anyone helping any Yankee players. In the end, Pedro isn't the one executing pitches anymore. Severino is. Who really cares?!!!

Lol Correa with the best "get in the way" slide in MLB history. Didi had nothing on that throw because of it. The Yankees deserve it for throwing to the base in that situation. That Correa run is nothing. The throw also still beat him by like four steps and Sanchez just muffed it.

Agreed on all points. Just to add, the Yankees always deserve the worst, no matter what the situation is.

That Correa run is nothing. The throw also still beat him by like four steps and Sanchez just muffed it. Sanchez is an awful defensive catcher. The Yankees should seriously consider making him the DH next season and getting a real catcher. He should have gotten that throw. Pitches are quite frequently going to the backstop right by him. His bat is awesome but his defense is pretty brutal. Watching Vazquez and Leon defensively vs Sanchez is night and day difference. I'm glad Verlander throwing 120 something pitches worked out, but I'd be concerned that if the Yankees make hay at home that Verlander during a Game 6 might not be anywhere near as sharp as he was today. I was really glad that the Astros won both games at home. They needed to do that. And that Altuve is really something. In the 1970s there was Rod Carew. In the 1980s there was Wade Boggs. In the 1990s there was Tony Gwynn. In the 2000s there was Ichiro Suzuki, and now in the 2010 there is Jose Altuve. He belongs right along side of those hit machines (and I'll mention George Brett who won batting titles in 1976, 1980 (390!), and 1990.)
