Lots to do today, so stopped monitoring the well earned throwaway game in the 4th inning.
Bone to pick: Seriously, nobody could have called me to turn the game on in the 8th??
I hope my face gets stuck in this bewildered smirk the 2018 Sox have made so common.

I really don't want this season to end As long as the Sox win the last game played in MLB this year, I'm good with it.

So great for Phillips. Just imagine what THAT must feel like. Also loved that Phillips acted like it was routine. The ultimate Bear Bryant, "Act like you have been there before."

Yeah, his David Ortiz call in the 2013 ALCS game 2 was one of the bests of my lifetime. He knows how to emphatically emphasize a big situation like that for sure.

No, the best debut I ever saw was Daniel Nava's first at bat grand slam. That was priceless.

I have to say I'm really happy for Phillips and can only imagine how he must have felt circling those bases after working his way back through the minors and waiting patiently for his shot. He seems like a good dude who legitimately wanted to be here and contribute however he could. What an awesome moment and game.

Ok. I am at the end of the 7th and we are losing 7-1. Now, I know we won this game, but I have no idea what is going to happen and I haven't read any posts.
All I can say, it must've been a heckuva ride for you guys who watched this live.
I'll finish up shortly.

I have to say: Brandon Phillips is quickly becoming one of my favorite Sox players. Not just because he hit that homer (but yes, of course, that too) but because of his winning personality and the way the entire team smiled back at his very winning smile. And then there is this:
"Brandon Phillips is the first player in Red Sox history to hit a go-ahead HR in the 9th inning or later in his debut with the team (source: @eliassports)."
Whats not to like? I just hope after a long and storied career he gets a ring. Hurray for the oldsters!

I don't know what to say. Phillips is the hero....on his first day in the lineup !!! Win a game that they were giving guys rest !!
I love that Cora switched gears in the 8th once blood appeared in the water.....just like a shark.
I just am amazed.

Another guy to keep things loose.

Go look at @datdudebp on Twitter for a few dozen tweets and you'll see what a great guy he is. Absolutely everyone loves him. He'll be a great influence in the clubhouse.

Hey we're 8 wins away from the franchise record. That should be pretty doable.

Hey we're 8 wins away from the franchise record. That should be pretty doable. Should be easy. "Hey, let's order some KFC. Yeah, whose turn is it anyway to go on a beer run? They'll let you back in with it, don't worry. We're pros."

It’s funny...I had to work so I missed the game after seeing them down 2-0. I figured I’d check in but got caught up and forgot. On the way home i thought I’d check espn for scores, and before it even came up, i thought...”huh...they probably won.” And there it was. This team may take a bit to get the offense moving, but from the 4th inning or so on, they’re just ravenous for runs. Absolutely monstrous. They’re a no joke juggernaut. As an aside, give TB credit for smoking them that series...the only team to sweep all year. That TB team is going to be dangerous next year (hell, they are this year). The East is gonna be brutal in ‘19. But for now, let’s enjoy this incredible, apparently unstoppable force known as the 2018 Boston Red Sox. What a fantastic team made up of a *bunch* of likable guys. Cheers, and welcome, Brandon Phillips!!

Sanchez is sooo bad. 2 PB's and a WP that should have been called a PB, all in the 1st. Severino wasn't exactly stellar on his end of things either. A's up 4-0 after 1.

Just finished watching the bottom of the first inning in the Yankee game. My goodness Sanchez is a hack behind the plate 2 passed balls and 2 wild pitches. Just sat here laughing at Sanchez. Was gonna feel bad for him but than I remembered he was a yankee than remembered how much of a douche he is so I just rewinded and just laughed .

Ahh the Severino and Sanchez battery, may they yell at each other and blame both each other for bad and lazy plays for the next 3-5 years together.

Amazing. The announcer may be correct that it's the worst inning for a catcher he's ever seen.

Today’s performance by Sir Brandon Phillips was like watching a 19 year old rookie living in the moment. He stole a run on Duda’s mistake and made a second headfirst slide to score again in the eigth. Then still bouncing like a rookie around the bases with his game winning homer. He may bring the same juice that Nunez did last September. As cited before just win the last game of 2018.

If the Yankees were smart they would get rid of him. Thrilled to see the Yankees getting crushed and particularly happy that it's Severino.
