Had noted him as a guy the Red Sox had interest in over in the MLB Draft thread. He's a State College of Florida commit.

The Red Sox made a dedication before announcing this pick to the late wife of the northwest area scout, a nice gesture.

Apparently Harrington didn't surrender an earned run all season for Spokane, could be getting value out of an obscure region of the country. Some outdated video and info here baseballnorthwest.com/user/reedharrington/

Not much info on Harrington, looks like he is a Boise State commit. Would be part of their new-birth class. Boise St bringing back their baseball program for the first time since 1980.

Something to keep in mind on today's picks - the org basically already has a full Lowell roster, save for a reliever or 3, after yesterday's run on college guys. GCL has tons of space.

There have been far more pitchers drafted than I anticipated at this point in the draft I was talking with my Rays friend pre-draft and after yesterdays draft about the talent in this years draft. I pointed out that after the 2nd round of position heavy talent it really evens out. Of course his Rays mainly draft pitching. lol I also thought we'd draft a pitcher with one of our first two or 3 picks. We are having a very good draft if we can sign enough of these guys! That 5% over the pool money will be used for sure again!
